So Williams will be locked out for at least a year.

If Williams gets past Quitana, Clottey is available.

Hes not going to get beat by fatigue, the guy throws over 1200 punches per fight. He was a stamina animal vs Margarito.

I think Williams best bet is to beat Quintana, and look for stay busy fights until he beats so many journeymen that there is just no one out there who wants to fight him.

I hate to say it, but I think Williams is stop #2 in the road to Miguel Cotto.

The winner of Margo Cintron is going to be set up to fight williams. I still say that Williams's best matchup is against Cintron.

If Margo wins, it sets up Williams Margo II which is a Welterweight unification match, good for boxing.

If Cintron wins, it sets up the unification he pulled out of in febuary. Either way boxing benefits and Williams does too, assuming he beats the winner of Margo Cintron II and becomes the IBF/WBO Champ.

The bottom line is this, Paul Williams has two choices for ways to get to the top.
    1. Fight gatekeepers and stay busy until he becomes a 2 belt holder. Longer road to the top, but probably the smarter path.

    2. Stay idle for quite some time and take the risk of waiting for someone like Mosley to take him. If he does this, he runs the risk of not getting any of the superstars to acknowledge him and taking 6-8 months maybe even a year away from the ring which would be horrible for him especially how boiled down he is.

Absolutely not. No fighters should be avoided.

And if Williams can make 147, I see no reason he should move uo to make some fans or certain boxers happy.
