Defino believe Frank is siding with Murray. Mitchell will have been out almost a year since that beating Katsidis put on him.

Murray's going to grind him down. Mitchell will be competitive for a few rounds but then Murray'll take over.

    Soft Southerners ;)

Mitchell's not a 'waste of space'. He's a good domestic level fighter, maybe even European. It didn't help that he was thrown in at the deep end against Katsidis after only two decent opponents - Johanneson and Prescott.

I don't doubt he has talent, but it's a complete waste due to the fact he doesn't have what it takes mentally, and if he can't motivate himself when given a once in a lifetime opportunity like the Kat fight, then he never will.

It's a great move by Warren and hopefully will make some decent money

I don't see how anyone can say Warren is feeding kev mitchell to Murray....when the fight is in London.

Mitchell is the best fighter Murray has faced not the other way round.

Are you not surprised Kev hasn't had a comeback fight before being matched with Murray?

Quite right, I think that this is seriously tight, wouldn't like to predict a winner if they both come in on form. I am surprised that so many are so down on Mitchell. Sure, he turned in a stinker against Katsidis, but how many fighters have had a bad performance or two yet overall are still judged well by history? I think we should judge Mitchell on this fight, that will show us how well he comes back from a bad performance and the associated negative press.

    Murray TKO12.

Mitchell has only ever beaten one decent fighter in Johanneson, and was close to being stopped in that one..... has hardly had any meaningful fights in the last four years and was easily stopped by Katsidis.... and had a year off since.

Murray has been inactive at times but at least has some form, the KO win over Buckland was put into perspective when Gary entered Prizefighter and won easily.

Put it this way - there's no way Frank would go to the trouble of signing John and then shove him in a fight he was probably going to lose.

Breidis Prescott is a perfectly decent fighter, it was a good performance from Mitchell who had an easier time with Prescott than Miguel Vazquez (who has proved to be a very good fighter himself) did.

I thought Warren would give this 12 or so more months before making it. But something tells me he's seen something in Mitchell which suggests his desire for the game has dropped to a level where he [Warren] feels he's no longer worth investing in. On paper it seems like a smart move, but I wish Mitchell turns up at his best and pulls an upset.

Either way, Frank wins. People can criticize him all they want, but he's the best promoter in the business when it comes to the Brits.
