I think if the JC - RJJ fight had been made even 5/6 years ago it would have been worth bothering about. As it is I will be happy watching it free on some foreign satellite channel.

So you're saying that people can't enjoy boxing unless they invest hours studying old matches, and pay a fortune attending matches abroad? **** that. It's reasoning like that which leaves boxing in the doldrums when it comes to world sport. Get off your high horse, it's a simple ****ing fight after all!

it nink what he is getting on about ...ant tell me if iam wrong ...is that there was alot of complaints from some hatton dfans that he seems to have attracted a drunk football elemet to his fights.folk who only have the mentality to sing one song.

i think that is rubbis but ihave heard that complaint before, and that song does my nut in (when ihear iot on the tv)

At the risk of looking like I'm whoring myself on here, feel free to PM me if you need travel sorting out. I can't do fight tickets but can promise not to rip you off for flights and hotels..... unless your screen name is Strike....

I ****ing hate the 'elitism' of some boxing fans who look down their noses at casual fans. As long as noone is causing any harm let them have their fun, its not the opera!

Or do we want to go back to the private clubs, diner jackets and cigar smoke?

I too hate this "real boxing fans" term. I think it's bogos. If you do go with the term (one I never use, and think it's a load of rubbish), a "real boxing fan", wouldn't been seen within a million miles of Jones/Calzaghe fight as it's a totally false match up, and a fight purely set up to make money. It's boxing credentials are negligible.

The people going must be going as fans of Joe, for the spectacle, for the great occasion (I'd love to go NY should be great) - and for good times. Good luck to them there's nothing wrong with that; but don't ridicule others, and try and make out that this fight is some sort of boxing purists dream. That you are some sort of elite fan for going to it - whilst turning your nose up at other sets of fans who are going to boxing matches for the very same reasons as you.

Anyway, to all those going to both fights - have a great time.

Yep. A US specialist no less:D Stuey can vouch for me as I got him a ****ing steal for Hatton v PBF.....that was pre credit crunch fuel charges though....:bart

Ordinarily, you don't have to stump up the whole wedge straight away depending on the flight contract... let me know....

    Its a decent point made.

Calzaghe-Jones is more of a event than a hardcore purist "fight"

IMHO its a little rich to try and claim the moral high ground for Calzaghe-Jones, at least Hatton-Pauli is a fight between the two best active boxers at 140.

Who is tryingto claim the moral high ground.

also i understand your point in the sense of hattons fight is two guys who are at the top/ish ofthere game.but i think the ight between jones (while it dosent look good on paper) in a quirky way will be a better fight on the night.

    ToffeeJack??

"But I can guarantee you this. There will be more genuine fans supporting Calzaghe than there will be Hatton.

Thats not knocking Hatton in any way it's just that half of the fans he attracts probably don't know much about boxing and some probably don't even care if he wins they will just be out for a good time.@

Roy Jones is a better fighter than Paulie Malignaggi even when he is 99.9% shot. Don't give us bull****.

    Neither are boosting any legacies.
