Canelo got shutout 12-0 vs Floyd, many of you claim he fought the wrong strategy or that he was drained by coming in at 152. OK so is that the only reason he performed so badly against Floyd? Think about it for a moment please...

If being drained is your excuse for Canelo vs Floyd then what is your excuse for his horrible performance against Lara, he certainly couldn't have been drained at 155 could he? Oh wait did he fight the wrong strategy against Lara too?

Do you think overweight, slow of foot, no jab, no consistency Canelo that fought Lara would do any better vs Mayweather....I doubt it, don't you?

You beat Floyd by throwing over 1000 punches (ala Calzaghe v Lacy); probably 1200.

In terms of pure boxing scoring, it probably shouldn't be that simple, but doing that would get you the decision.

It's a lot easier said than done, because when your intensity inevitably drops; like Maidana and ODLH, he boxes your head off.

Canelo's weight had no effect on the outcome of that fight vs Mayweather.

He had months to prepare for that fight he should have started losing weight earlier so he wasn't drained. I'm tired of the what ifs with this fight, he lost period, I don't care if he chose the wrong strategy that was his choice.

Saying a fighter lost because he had the wrong strategy is true but a poor excuse. Canelo's strategy vs Floyd sucked. Bradley's strategy vs Pac sucked. Martinez's strategy vs Cotto sucked. Sometimes the guy is just better than you.

Ya i think he did what he could against Lara. You can't cut the ring off on a guy moving that fast laterally. Lara was the disgrace, not canelo. He was very pissed after the fight the translator was being diplomatic and didn't convey how truly disgusted he was.

Alvarez just couldn't figure Mayweather out. His style just couldn't handle what Mayweather had to offer. Alvarez isn't a wild swinger like Maidana to do what Maidana did recklessly. He was simply confused, frustrated and defeated. Pretty much the same way Marquez was also frustrated, confused and defeated against Mayweather. All the excuses that follow(weight and all other nonsense) don't mean ****.

Alvarez just isn't on that level, and his style isn't one to cause Mayweather problems.. He has some of the tools to get in that upper category but he hasn't showed the heart or grit to take it to the next level. .
