Pavlik is so predictable. If he came in at angles then he probably could have won that fight. What the hell was he expecting? Stop Bernard with his jab-straight combo? KP can improve. Look at Margarito. They are both the same type of fighters, yet Margarito comes in at angles, he does not head hunt. He goes to the body at times. In fairness to Kelly though, he has a better jab and defense. He has the tools to improve. Kelly should probably watch some Hagler tapes to help him.

I still think pavlik is a very good fighter but hopkins is a special fighter. Pavlik can improve but he has to add some more dieminson's to his game. The lockett win was overrated and after the fight i saw at least two pavlik p4p no 1 thread's. I was shocked when people started picking him over b-hop just because of what he did to lockett. It was unbeliveable that he was a wbo mandatory.

Nobody, and I mean absolutely nobody, picked Pavlik over Hopkins because of Lockett. The very idea is ****ing ridiculous. We picked Pavlik because of work rate, stamina, power, and the mistaken belief the BHop was nearly shot. Pay attention please.

I also belive that's why the backlash was so bad after the hopkin's fight because the lockett performance got so many people's hope's up.

Where the **** are you getting your information? Nobody got their hopes up over Lockett. Only a handful of Europeans expected Lockett to last more than 5 rounds, and even they expected him to lose. As I recall, in a poll we had Lockett got like 3 votes! Do even follow boxing?

i mean that pavlik put in such a good performance against lockett using angle's and body punching that people thought he had improved loads and could do it consistantly at the highest level.

Anyone who thought that is out of their freaking mind. Pavlik was beating guys better than Lockett years ago. For example, McKart would give Lockett a one sided boxing lesson, and Zuniga would ******* him in about 7 rounds.
