Watched a re-run of Ward vs Abraham this morning :tired

Whats the deal with Son of billygoat ducking below the waistline every time AA came in? Is that in the rules?

I remember that cowardly little ***** direll got castigated on here for doing a similar thing against both Froch and AA yet there doesn't seem to be any mention of it today.

Did anyone else spot this? is this in the rules?:deal

AA's trainer didn't pick up on this but he was so open for the uppercut it was unreal. I expect either Froch or Johnson to take him apart if he tries the same cowardly tactics in the final.:bbb

    Thoughts?

Haha no mate, I was disappointed billygoat fought like a *****.

Froch took AA apart without hiding away and clinching every time AA tried to throw. Thought AA's coach let him down by not pointing out the obvious that Ward was open to the uppercut with those cowardly below the belt hiding tactics.

    Is that allowed?
    Serious question.

Not pretty. But Ward isn't the first fighter to use this tactic.

It really is a shame what these referees choose to let go on unpenalized.. Ducking below the waistline, excessive holding, elbows... Its just part of a certain style considered slick, yet it goes against the rules anf us somehow seen by some as a thing of beauty...
I guess stealing a snickers bar from the gas station is beautiful as well..

It tends to get picked up more in the amateurs, a lot of pro refs let it go.

In the 20+ years I've been a fan of boxing I can count on one hand how many times I've seen a guy warned or penalized for ducking too low. I think more boxers should just place punches on the back of the head of a guy who continually ducks below their waistline.

Whitaker was shorter than most of his opponents, though. Tyson was shorter than all of his opponents. Ward is 3 or 4 inches taller than Abraham.

It does seem to me like he holds nearly as much as Ruiz and Klitschko.

Thats part of the problem. Fighters will turn their back or duck low giving their opponent only the back of their head to hit. but if the other fighter hits said fighter in back of the head, it's common that the guy punching is the one being penalized. Instead of the guy who is turning their back on his opponent. which is bull**** because the man turning their back or ducking below the waistline committed the foul.

Yeah, and with the ducking low, it almost looks like he's about to tackle AA the whole time.

**One point later in the fight, I thought AA was about to give him one of those AA knees up in there...lol.
