Looks like K2 offered $450k Dollars for a rematch option and Arena/Solis accepted. They didn't have to accept that but they probably are in dire need for money. Arena has pumped tons of money into their contenders and don't have much to show for it.

The scene had an article saying Solis was getting 1.5m EUR for his mandatory shot. Now Öner said they get 1.8m EUR, including money paid for a rematch option. 1.8m EUR - 1.5m EUR = 300k EUR = approx $450k USD. That's the "extra" amount they're being paid for the rematch option.
Ohhhh I see now. I thought the rematch would only be valid if Solis won the fight. If Solis loses he gets to face Wlad for another half a mil. Gotcha:good

The only reason he accepted options is to get a larger share of the purse for the first fight. Smart move since he knows that the option is most likely not going to worth much (as in chances of winning the fight with Vitali)
Yes, I believe the extra $450k is already his...it wasn't the amount he would earn for the option fight...it was strictly for option itself...I think so anyway.
Perhaps so regarding the money. But, I tend to disagree on the second point. I think that Solis and his handlers truly believe that he will beat both of them. I certainly do not share their perspective.
He gave up the right to negotiate for his next fight (should he win) for $450k. Let's say his option contract is for 2mil. If he wins against Vitali with no options he can negotiate unification with Haye or Wlad and it will probably be at least 4-6mil. So he gave up a chance to get extra 2-4mil for $450k in hard cash. If so, his handlers are betting 1:4 to 1:8 against Solis.
I think Oener just cashed out. Rightly so too. Solis is a disgraceful heavyweight. His performance against Austin was about as bad as I've ever seen in a title eliminator. If Austin wasn't absolutely ****ing horrible, he would have won easily. Needless to say, it's 2011 and he's a heavyweight, so he inevitably gassed despite not throwing anything more than an arm punch all night. When he did, the fat **** who threw a grand total of 7 punches in 10 rounds got lucky. The most absurd ****ing disqualification I've ever seen. Ugh. Heavyweight boxing is awful. I watched the Solis/Austin fight with my dad earlier and I couldn't help feel jealousy that when he was my age, the best heavyweights were Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Norton, Shavers, Lyle, Young, Quarry etc.. All I've got is the Klitschko's, Haye and Adamek. Two glass chins, a glass heart and one guy who doesn't belong at heavyweight in a million years.
