He was in the worst shape ever but you could still see how good of a boxer he is/was why can´t he lose some weight it´s ****ing ridiculous he could be a top 5 HW why does he have to be so lazy it would be enough if he weighs less than 240 he could still eat much more than all non HWs, he is a HW is it really that hard for a professional athlete with his talent to keep his weight down
I hope Pedro will make him lose weight, this was his weight even before lay off lets see his weight for next fight, if he could go down to 240 it would be great.
Welliver vs Solis 2 should happen. Welliver dropped 50 since their last fight. Odlanier is going the other way. The in shape Welliver beats his arse IMO.
despite the weight when he has another fight or so he will be top 5 easily. The guy has the most skills in the division right now and could be a very good champ one day . . . if he can get around 240lb. (the irony is the only time he fought at around that weight he got injured before Vitali threw his "phantom" punch to knock him out)
yes he is last nights fight proved this, if he was some 20 lbs lighter, he'd have Airich out of there easily, but he would rather stuff his face at McD's or some other fast-food **** place after getting his hefty paycheck from team Klitschko
I'll give him a pass here, it was his comeback fight after injury with several months out of the gym. He'll never be lean, he started heavily drinking and eating back in Cuba, but something like 245 is doable.
I think he's the most skilled active heavyweight at the moment, so it's a shame to see him turn up out of shape because you know it'll hinder his performance. I think he could be a special fighter but whilst natural talent is essential, it needs to be paired with desire. He's not going to go anywhere until he really wants it but that, sadly, is unlikely. He needs to be given a chance on a huge stage, where he is backed into a corner in a 'do-or-die' fight. Maybe a fight against Wlad would be that catalyst for him to realise he needs to get in better shape because his entire career rests on the result? I like Solis and was excited when he turned pro. I hope he fulfills some of his potential but he needs to be around 225lbs for that to happen.
A 6ft 1 professional boxer who's carrying around a 19 stone frame. :rofl That's so hard to get your head around, i looked at the weight tables of healthy people and i find this really disturbing. Overweight or not, how the hell can he be able to put on that much weight. It's just so abnormal, about 70 lbs over the maximum for his height. Normal people will probably struggle to put on 10lbs of fat. http://www.brianmac.co.uk/idealw.htm
You know that this is bull****, Mike Tyson would have been obese if you believe that. Muscles are heavier than fat, he is still a big guy even though he´s fat. It would be great if he weighs 240-220 it would be pretty much impossible for him to weigh less than that and still be in good condition. But he needs to lose weight
Muscles are heavier than fat, that is true. But how many guys do you see walk around with 30lbs of lean muscle on a 6ft 1 frame. What's the maximum limit a person can put on with that kind of bulk. Then add on some more bodyfat on aswell. :scaredas: Never seen anything like it....
Same thing people said about Greg Page in the early 1980's but it doesn't matter when you don't take your craft serious. Plus, Solis has not beat anyone that is a top 10 or even 15 fighter at the time (not talking about Alphabet Rankings) and he clearly has Chin issues. I like his style and I like Pedro Diaz as a trainer but if the guy won't commit himself Ray Arcel and Eddie Futch would not be able to help him. Reminds me of a Jim Lampley quote after Vitali Klitschko won every second of every round against Arreloa he said "If you are not a 24/7/365 fighter you will not beat a Klitschko" and he is right. I would welcome a rematch with Vitali because that Glass Jaw would get brutally and embarrassingly KOed again.
Of course there aren´t many but there a reason that Solis is a HW, he wouldn´t be lean but he wouldn´t be unhealthy obese at 240 and at 220 he would have a decent BF % (for a HW of course). I think the most boxers at HW and CW or even LHW have more bulk than the average person. How many people who are as "tall" as Bradley have his weight with his ridiculous low BF? Maybe it´s hard work maybe PEDs but that BMI **** is useless, fact is that Solis is a HW (if he had great discipline from the beginning of his career maybe he could have made CW but he would have most likely become a HW sooner or later). There´s a reason there are weight and not height classes (Tyson would probably be unbeaten if there were)
