Solis handles Austin; but would lose to Klitschko (and would have lost to Johnson). He is not the pro he was hyped to be.
I agree. When I saw Maskaev lost I thought that Austin would get a mandatory, but luckily he still has to fight an eliminator. That's what you get for beating 2 journeyman, a washed up Golota and old TOS since being ko'd by Wlad.
Vitali can fight everyone in that list- every other week- and will beat them one after another...there is no challenge at HW division, the only fight there competitive at all is between the 2 Klits and we know isnt gonna happen.
Your list is wrong, you have to get the real one from the WBC website: The current one reads: 1. Ray Austin 2. Oleg Maskaev 3. Odlanier Solis 4. Alexander Povetkin 5. Kevin Johnson 6. James Toney 7. Manuel Quezada .....
Thanks. Vitali still beats all of them though. Alphabet rankings are bulll**** at the best of times but in a weak division it's a terrible list.
:goodWell spoken, cubex! I also think that the Cuban will win this fight. I can vividly remember Austin's pathetic fight with Sedrick Fields. Fields knocked him down and almost out,but was a bit inactive in the later rounds.I still couldnt believe my very own ears when listening to the official scorecards. Austin won that fight by split decision. And as for Austin's last few opponents since he looked and fought like a bum against Wladimir Klitschko he has beaten two extremely limited journeymen(Jenkins and Long),a totally shot Golota, and Davarrly Williamson. Ludicrious that these achievments qualify him to fight in a title eliminator!!:admin
well I just checked the WBC website ... www.wbcboxing.com and you happen to also be wrong Maskaev is no longer #2 replaced by Solis and Kevin Johnson is no longer #5 and replaced by James Toney current top 5 Heavyweights as ranked by the WBC are Ray Austin, Solis, Valuev, Povetkin and Toney **I thought the WBC had something where #s 1 and 2 would fight for an Eliminator .. meaning Ray Austin vs Solis would be on tabs next. BUMP
Solis. Clearly Solis. Vitali needs to work on his legacy. Solis has done nothing to make him a a notch in the belt yet, but after he gets beat will likely trim down and go on to have a decent career. Austin will never be anything but a firnge contender.
Vitali needs to fight Solis. Although Oldanier's a overweight slob, he's got some serious speed, power and skill under all that lard...
Type out your posts normally you moron. Neither Toney or Briggs deserve a world title shot, but there aren't many money making fights out there for Vitali at this point so I suggested it because it would probably be televised and create some interest. Solis looks good but he came into his last fight grossly overweight and Vitali would probably get no respect for beating him at this point. Anyway rumour has it he is going for a Valuev fight which (since Haye, Chambers and Povetkin aren't available) is a pretty good fight to make.
Yes, absolutely. He was so much more impressive looking and behaving as an amateur from what I've seen.
