I've never watched him fight, is he the real deal? Judging from his resume (particularly in the ams) it looks that way.

Who are the fighters that are next on his list and should I start paying attention to him?

I'm not sure he looks still too fat and lazy but how Know's
he Ko'ed Barrett faster then Haye did.
But no doubt he is too fat

He's a very talented fighter, he's got excellent skills as you'd imagine from such a decorated amateur boxer, and his power is developing now. But he's still a little small in today's HW scene and more importantly he's just not in shape at all. He should be around 230 at the most. He's very talented, but in danger of slipping into a Riddick Bowe type situation where he won't achieve as much as his talent warrants because of lack of dedication and ultimately it might be poor conditioning.

Great amature pedigree,,, with the subtle skills and ring smarts that come along with it.

A little over-rated in the speed and power department imo,,, probably because he looks like he's been training with Butterbean for fk sakes! He's at least 30 lbs overweight.

Probably thinks like James Toney and figures he dosnt need to work hard in the gym because his skill will carry the day... so far he's right.

But the best guy he's faced as a pro to this point is Monte Barret... so,,, I quess we'll have to wait and see what he can do as he steps up.

I think he's supposed to get the call to replace Maskaev in the proposed WBC title eliminator vs Ray Austin. (If he can't get past Austin, ship his fat ass back to Fidel)

Supposedly, a win gets him a shot at Vitali. He'll do better than Peter/Gomez/Arreola/Johnson but won't win unless a) He get's in alot better shape. or b) Vitali gets old overnight. (or a combination of both)

Skilled boxer, but I think he lacks KO power and he obviously can't control his eating.

He's a bit overrated and is probably not going to live up to expectations once he's putin with the tougher competition, in my opinion.

From the little I have seen he apears to have all the skills in the world. He is a bit heavy for some one who 6′ 1½″ he was 271 for his last bout. He did win beating Monte Barrett in 2 rounds.
As an amateur he was a heavyweight which means in profisoniial terms he was a crusierweight. I think his handlers should have started him out as a crusierweight. I think he would either have a championship by now or fighting for one very soon. than they should have brought him up to heavyweight probbly latter this year. 217 would be a better weight for him. At some point in time being 271 is going to catch up to him.

The last year and a half he was in the amateurs he weighed around 230 and fought at SHW, so the talk he should have started as a cruiser is bunk. That said, 270 is way too big for him. He's still a lot better than Arreola though.
