This win is very bad for Solis. I don“t think he is smart enough to recognize that 271 ist nevertheless far too heavy.
In the next fight he is at 275....because he keeps winning vs. C-Levels

Peter was 239 his last bout that's lightest he's weighed in since 2001. He must be serious right now. Winning two straight. Wonder if he and Tua could fight eachother next year? That would be a :fire:smokebout.:bbb

Solis just needs to get in shape to be a factor.

Excellent Interviews with Solis trainer and Russ Anber

    http://theboxingbulletin.blogspot.com/2009/10/interview-with-odlanier-solis-trainers.html

Has Solis trimmed down in weight?

Russ: I used to think about his weight especially when he was at 265 yet when I spent time with him in camp I realized he just has one of those body types that’s just round - but he’s not obese. Solis is actually fit and fast he runs a lot - but we do want to bring his weight down because we feel he doesn’t need to carry that excess weight for guys like the Klitschko’s. But I will tell you he’s certainly not what I would call a fat heavyweight.

Pedro: Honestly I don’t worry about his weight. As long as Solis is prepared technically and competitive wise that’s all that matters to me at this point in time. As far as his weight goes Solis has been working hard on trimming down. He’s looking good.

Does Solis have any future opponents in mind saying he get’s passed Barrett?

Pedro: Well we are only concentrating on Monte Barrett for now. Of course after this fight we are willing to fight anybody.

Barret?, man Barret was never a serious opponent anyway, not even for Haye. Barret is not a fighter that comes in 100% for every fight which is why he's a journeyman at best.

Solis needs to weigh in properly if he wants people to take him seriously. Last few times I saw him he was overweight as hell and looked like he doesn't give a damn about being there.
