Saludos compatriota, great video! I am very happy to finally see Solis in good shape and in better weight. I think you misunderstood what he said at the end, they asked him if he sees videos of his opponents and he was starting to reply with, " no, as you know I don't like boxing ...

The video finished but what I think that he was trying to say is that he is not a boxing fan " he has said this before " in meaning that he is not a hardcore follower of boxing fights or fighters, and that he doesn't watch videos of his opponents.

Think about this, " how can he not like boxing if in Cuba they hardly get paid for it and they still do it gladly " ? I am sure that he does enjoy boxing himself but doesn't watch much boxing fights on TV, that's what he is trying to say.

Solis is looking great, I agree with you in that Solis and Rigondeaux are Cuba's best, but Gamboa and Lara are right behind their tails!

Un saludo para ti y para todos los Cubanos y Latinos, keep an eye on Solis, the next great HV World Champion! :good

Sorry to say it, but Solis is going to get KTFO. No one is beating the heavy bros in our era.

How in the world can you compare Briggs to Solis?

First off, Briggs and Solis are miles away in amateur accomplishments. I remember Felix Savon knocking out Shannon Briggs in the first round in the 1991 PanAm games in Habana. Then Solis beats Savon 2 times ( that's beating one of the greatest amateurs of all times ), then beats David Haye and Ibrahimov and other great amateurs.

Not only that but Solis is like 3 times World amateur Champ, Olympic Champion and many times Cuban National Champ. Please, don't mention Briggs and Solis in the same sentence ...

Briggs was pretty good in the pros but Solis will definitely be a lot better. In my opinion, Solis will be the first to KO Vitaly, just wait. :good

Finesse, greetings to you from " the Cuban ESB King ", I like that name you gave me! LOL ...

I respect your opinion my brother, but just because the others have failed against the K brothers doesn't mean that Solis will. Solis is the best amateur turn pro that Vitaly or Wladimir will ever face, and I know that there are some differences between amateur and pro but having Solis' amateur pedigree is something really special, and Solis has the " ^%$# " to fight them both and not chicken out like the others have.

If you remember Cuban Juan Carlos Gomez fought Vitaly and had great amateur credentials ( but nowhere near Solis ), but Gomez chickened out in my opinion, he was just there slapping Vitaly and letting himself get hit. He was not the same Gomez who danced around, moved and countered perfectly as he always did, instead he was a target. To defeat Vitaly or Wlad, a fighter has to have %$#@, and Solis seems that kind of fighter, he doesn't back away from no one, I mean no one. If he wasn't afraid of the huge and scary power punching 6'6 Felix Savon, definitely he will not be scared of Vitaly nor Wlad.

    :good

Don't think so. Solis has stated that he wants to be Heavyweight Champion and beat everybody, not win a belt and retire. If that was the case, he would have retired in Cuba once he became Olympic and World Champion but he didn't right? So, why do you think that he wants a good payday and then retire? Doesn't make any sense to me. :huh

First off, no one should insult a person, and much less any boxer. Respect, respect and rexpect, instead of insulting and bashing I suggest that you wait to see how Solis does in his career, I think you and many of you will be highly surprised. :good

Agreed. I'm also pissed at how this fatass has wasted so much of his career.

Disgraceful. :deal. Look at his compatriots! Gamboa, Rigondeaux, Lara, Ugas, etc are all coming along better. I hope he fights Mike Perez and gets owned.

I rmember a few yeras back, K's fans were saying the same thing, and a part time boxer full time golfer came along, ktfo WK, then another came Brewster and he too ktfo WK, and out of shape Lewis sent VK to the plastic surgeon, that was a few years back when they were on their prime.

Their reign has more to do with how weak the HW division is, and not for their fighting prowess.

the point was, dont get excited on what people look like in training but rather what they do in the ring and against who
amateur pedigree means jack **** in boxing..just means you have potential to be good.
so a professional amateur in savon who was probably 27,28,29 years old beating a 18 or 19 year old briggs is something to talk about?
ask henry tillman how his gold medal helped him as a pro, or jorge luis gonzalez, or david reid and countless others....solis is already proven lazy and unmotivated and that spells doom for any fighter who hasnt even beat a top 10 guy

    To me, it's like this:

Solis is a tremendously skilled boxer. There are almost no ranked heavyweights as skilled as he is in the top 25. Yet, he stands in his own way by not getting into peak fighting shape. :-(

The prerequisite for getting a "Vitali Klitschko beating" is being excessively overweight. This is why I know Vitali is literally salivating at the chance to fight him. He's licking his chops right now. Vitali loves to feast on fat bodies and fighters who have limited conditioning.

Odlanier is a truly gifted fighter, but he just doesn't seem to appreciate the massive amount of talent he's got. The man did not need to gain as much weight as he's carrying now once he joined the pro ranks. We just wish he'd give 100% both in training and outside of the ring between fights.

    Train hard, fight easy.
