I'm looking forward to see Solis fight the Klitschko's more than any other contenders. Let's hope he gets through Austin without having to pull out. I think Solis is a real live threat towards Vitali...

I agree with you, Solis is the best HV prospect today, ( mainly because of his unique amateur achievements ). If Solis takes the fight aggresively to Vitaly without " chickening out " we may very well have the first Cuban HV World Champion on March 17. I say " chickening out " cause Cuban JC Gomez let me down by not doing anything against Vitaly, the Black Panther turned into a Black cat. :-(

Solis is my pick for the fighter who will take over the throne once the Klits retire. As long as he keeps his weight in check.

Will he beat the Klits now? No.

Wrong. Maybe Tillman, ( just as many others ), didn't take pro boxing seriously enough. The same happens to many great amateurs who turn pro, they don't take it seriously enough and think that just because they won Gold that they are pro World Champs already so they enter pro boxing with the wrong mentality.

Boxing is boxing, and if a fighter easily defeats another fighter in the amateurs and uses the same strategy and dedication in the pros he should also beat him again. There are of course differences in pro boxing like more rounds, no headgear and is more violent but the object is still the same, outbox your opponent! :good

it also means tillman was a grown man and tyson was 17.....when tyson was 24 years old in the pros...it was a different story
your argument fails for saying "maybe they didnt take it serious in pros or maybe they didnt train " doesnt matter...bottom line is bottom line...some people are just better pros than they are amateurs... and amateurs who have success can be failures at the pro level....there is no category explaining why henry tillman got drilled in 90 seconds in the pros by tyson and why tyson was undisputed heavyweight champion by age 21. while tillman won a cruiserweight title and got beat in first defense....
you read into things too much

And if we going by numbers(if he wants to keep it real), how many of them defected? Hurtado, Casamayor, Gonzalez, Garbey, and Ledon brothers, 2 of those 6 went to win Belts, and Casamayor probably will end it up in the HOF, not bad for only 6 fighters.

Still Tillman became a World Champ, and we don't know why he loss those fights, out of shape, drugs, women, perssonal problems etc.. Beside getting beat by "that" Mike Tyson was not a shame.

You mean like how Solis doesn't take it seriously enough to even get into shape for a fight?:lol::lol: Man, you just described Solis perfectly without realizing   :patsch

Umm... NO. History has disputed EVERYTHING you just stated here. In fact, only someone with a low boxing IQ with say something so obviously ignorant. Boxers improve all the time from the amateurs to the pro's, they don't "stay the same", hence it's utterly stupid to say something like "if a fighter easily defeats another fighter in the amateurs and uses the same strategy and dedication in the pros he should also beat him again".

You know, Jorge Luis Gonzalez took his professional debut very seriously and trained harder. He beat Lewis and Bowe easily in the amateurs. Many thought he would be the heir to Mike Tyson. Yet, despite his dedication in the pros, he was utterly destroyed by an improved Riddick Bowe, and you best believe he would have gotten his ass beaten back to a cuban banana boat by Lennox Lewis also.

You see my point? History is littered with countless examples like this to shoot down that dumb notion of yours.
