Thats the same card as Tarver's next fight, seems this fight is replacing the Luis Ortiz fight. Thats a pretty ambitious schedule for Johnson I doubt he fights both Solis and then Hammer a month later. These two were suppose to fight a few years ago but I think Johnson pulled out to face Vitali instead. I'd guess the winner would be in position to land another big fight but its a shame that there's so much wasted talent between these two. Both guys have/had top level talent but Solis is overweight and lazy and Johnson doesn't have the mentality to make it at the top. A few years ago when they were suppose to meet I would have picked Johnson, now I'd pick Solis because Johnson just doens't let his hands go enough to beat a guy like Solis. If this fight does happen I'd say Solis by decision.
He'll do much better against Solis because Solis will be the one bringing the pressure. Against taller opposition like Vitali an Fury, kingpin had to step forward with the jab underneath their jabs, something he doesn't really like to do because his style isn't suited for that type of battle. He'd much prefer if someone was walking him down to solve his lack of offense. Early prediction Kevin Jonhnson UD Odlanier Solis
Thinking about how easy Solis was able to hit Vitaly, who is even better at fighting from distance than Kingpin, i have to favour Solis if in shape. That´s a huge if though.
I wouldn't rule out a Johnson win, I think its close to a 50/50 fight its just Johnson's workrate makes me lean towards Solis. Maybe Vitali and Fury's size was a big factor in Johnson's lack of effort but he's never been guy who throws a lot of punches. I'm still not sure this fight even happens. I see the Johnson-Hammer fight listed but I've seen nothing on Johnson-Solis.
Johnson won't throw a punch during the fight in order to make sure he avoids injury and can keep his other fight.
The one time Solis stepped up he got his Glass Jaw shattered. No wonder he fights bums all the time. This is pitiful.
I can't find anything about this fight on the internet... Kevin Johnson likes to talk a lot, so if it's signed, I would expect him to make it known through the media or internet.
Johnson was disgraceful against Fury. I wasn't too bothered by him sitting in his shell against Vitali but against freaking Fury? Hell, did he fire a single power shot that night? Useless boxer with a somewhat skillful and very tight defence and very little else.
