They were supposed to fight in may and talked a lot of **** to each other and now it seems like is back on for oct 10 is listed in boxrec and espn
If Oquendo comes out to win, which he usually does, we'll find out if Solis is the real deal. That said, Oquendo's chin may let him down in this one if he loses focus.
Thanks for the information...I didn't know this. I think Solis is the second best Cuban to go pro since 2004. Oquendo's a more than worthy test.
Lara popped into my head right after I posted that. It's just always a little more hyped when it's a heavyweight. Rigo's number one.
Well, okay. This isn't as good news as if Johnson-Solis was put back on (which is what I specifically bought my ticket to see), but better than a total can I guess.
The only negative about Oquendo is age, and he is not THAT old. Maybe you know something I don't, but he was MUCH more than mediocre at best 5 or 6 years ago.
He's had a hard luck career. There's a pretty decent argument that he shouldn't have lost in the last 5 years. I thought he beat both Toney and Holyfield.
kingpin would rather fight vitali in december. solis needs to make a statment and look good against oquendo.
