Oquendo is going to pull the upset with a UD or get robbed in a decently close fight with Solis. Oquendo really needs to dominate Solis. I don't think Solis is ready for Oquendo yet.

Solis seems to have a lot of promise, but he really looks as if he doesn't take his conditioning seriously. I think Oquendo will be a good test for him.

I agree. Did he fight and should have beaten Byrd too? I can't remember. I do remember that he was dominating Tua before getting tagged HARD. Regardless, this guy is NOT mediocre at best. This is a SERIOUS test for Solis.

I know something you know also;), and it is almost the same what you just said: he WAS more than mediocre, but it was 5-6 YEARS AGO.

I don't know what everybody's talking about. Oquendo's losses have all been very tough losses. He WAS very close to the elite of the heavyweight division. He has been in there with damn near everybody, has been somewhat active lately and he's only 36. This a HUGE step up for Solis.

It is a step up for Solis, the big problem Oquendo has though is that his style is a very negative one and he rarely wins rounds big. The debatable losses to Holyfield and Toney for instance were cases where just 10% more effort from him would've been enough and instead he didn't apply himself.

Now, Solis has had those accusations thrown at him in the past too.

I don't think it'll be a good fight, but the winner will be elevated from it. So a worthwhile bout then.

Oquendo is one tough SOB, although judges clearly don't prefer his stlye when it comes to the scores, but you can have a case saying he beat Toney, Holyfield and Byrd, all of them. Also, Tua stopped him behind on the cards and the Ruiz fight was fairly even.

In a way, Oquendo is a tougher opponent than Johnson, high risk with low reward. Solis gotta bring his A-game or it's gonna be his first loss or controversial win.

I agree. Solis is overrated, he has poor boxing skills. Only got a shot by KO. I am picking the big O by decision.

NEWS FLASH: Oquendo knows nothing about the fight with Solis. Says it's all NEW to him. Has not been approached by anyone about the possible bout with Solis.
