Would be a great fight. I haven't seen Tua's recent fights so I really can't pick a winner. I don't see this one being boring at all though.
If Solis shows up at 250+ then Tua, but if he actually trims down to about 230 then he could have a chance.
Solis by wide decision. And it wouldn't matter what weight Solis shows up at. Solis is a better technical boxer, has a good chin and has a higher workrate than recent Tua. Tua would be lucky to win more than a couple rounds.
solis has very good accuracy with less power than tuaman and tends to stand and trade. that i think would be his downfall with tua ko'ing him in the middle rounds. haye would be tougher fight for tua coz he moves very well and fast and hits harder than solis..
I agree. Old Tua is one of the most overrated fighters in boxing. The guy hasn't done squat in years.
as of right now solis' grotesque midsection would get turned to pudding by tua, if solis can get in shape then ill give him a chance. but right now, tua brutalizes him.
We really don't know much about what Tue has left, what we do know is Solis is technically a good fighter and can counter-punch, but if Solis can't stay the heck out of the way of Tua's punches then he's in for a long night.
The poll reflects the two most likely outcomes - Solis decision or Tua KO. Personally, I think Solis is trash (in actuality if not "potential"), and hasn't displayed any hunger or desire in the pro game. If he gets hit flush (and despite his ability to slip very well occasionally, with some of his lazy habits in the ring, it's not unthinkable) by a monstrous puncher he may not like it. He may shell up, at which point Tua will smell blood and explode on him, and the referee may be forced to step in if Solis can't find the courage to open up and throw something back. If Tua can't find and test his chin in the first few rounds, then Solis by boring pot-shot decision begins to look more and more likely.
Oh come on. Solis is not special. You can talk all you want about what he "should have been capable of" after his great amateur run, but it hasn't come to fruition. He has a very deceptive record and KO percentage. Barrett and Drumond were dried up husks, and the four rounds of "work" he got against them were glorified sparring. To say Tua, who would easily be the hardest hitting and gamest dance partner Solis had ever seen as a paid combatant, wouldn't win 1 round is ridiculous.
