At today’s first press conference for the March 19th showdown at Germany’s biggest indoor arena (Lanxess Arena) in Cologne, WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko showed a lot of respect for his next opponent, Odlanier Solis.
“I have fought a lot of strong opponents but I have never been in the ring with an Olympic gold medallist,” said Klitschko. “I expect a very tough and close fight against a very talented young boxer who comes to take the belt from me. I won’t let that happen though. I will show why I am the champion and defend my title.”
Solis didn’t look too impressed by the champion’s physique (Klitschko is six inches taller). When asked how he feels going into the toughest fight of his professional career so far against a true champion, “La Sombra” smiled and asked: “What makes you think that this will be my toughest fight? Can you tell me what makes a boxer a strong or superior boxer? So far all guys I fought had two arms and two legs. I would understand your question if I would fight an opponent with three fists for the first time…”

Because your fighting a man with a sick ko ratio,a great ring iq, great athleticism, rarely loses a round and punishes everyone he faces even at age 39.
This will definitely be your toughest fight.

Solis is going into this fight with the same idiotic mentality every fighter before him has. He's cruising for a bruising.

But noone Solis has face has the size Vitali does, nor the power, discipline, and raw skill.

Two arms and two fists, yes, but he's got everything else in spades, where all of Solis's other opponents did not.

But they are merely trying to hype their man, Solis. I can understand that, but at least give a proven champion who is as dominant as Vitali is in EVERY fight, a bit more respect than that.

Can you imagine what Solis is gonna weigh after the long long layoff after this beating. The usual recovery and return to the ring for the Bro's opponents is 6-12 months. LOL. Maybe Solis can use this new Taco Bell scandal to motivate himself so he can afford taco's with %100 Beef in them.

I'm just wondering whether he truly believes that statement or if deep down he knows he has little chance. Being the fact that he usually sounds like an arrogant guy I would tend to believe he actually believes that crap. Ego is a ***** I suppose!
