Liakhovich is keeping his arms pinned down pretty well. Liakhovich doubles his jab in Ruiz's face and spanks him on the kidney with a right. Headlock applied by Liakhovich.

Liakhovich is standing in the pocket, axing Ruiz behind the head with left hooks as Ruiz throws his own left hook at the body. Liakhovich is giving no ground now, collecting jabs on his forearms coming forward and using his arms like a net thrown over Ruiz's offense when he starts to flurry high. Liakhovich is being a complete pain in Ruiz's ass. Liakhovich is using his tall frame and physical upper body strength now to shove Ruiz out and jab at him, while Ruiz's jabs whoosh in the air harmlessly.

Liakhovich is jabbing and hanging back, knees bent, gloves spread to pick off Ruiz's jabs or trap them in a vice grip. Ruiz moves in and ties up, and grinds his arms up into Liakhovich's throat. Liakhovich steps back and jabs, then hooks off the jab on a fade-away step, stumbling but keeping his balance. Liakhovich is slipping the jab, in a classic boxer's stance, left arm curled around his body, right fist up protectively, head turned down and to his right. Liakhovich is bouncing a bit now, getting confident. Liakhovich is circling, moving in, gloves waved in short circles, invitingly wide apart, parrying Ruiz and countering with jabs.

Liakhovich is stuffing the jab in on Ruiz's face, outscoring him with that punch now, timing figured out. Ruiz is lashing his out still a bit faster but not taking aim, and more static with his legs. Lots of hugging. Ruiz is sweeping up left hooks and too far away to land them. Liakhovich is checked out for a cut on his brow. Time in. Liakhovich is moving in with right hand leads and left hooks, backing Ruiz up and ignoring his stubby jab.
