I like Vera. Tough, lower level contender. Always comes game and sometimes comes out with a win vs top guys.

I have never liked Mora. He always acts as if he is some "Slick Boxer". Slick Boxers do not lose to Brian Vera....TWICE!!!!

No, he landed some of them, and the more eye-catching ones to the face. (especially since Vera takes shots like a Terminator so you can see their full impact as he displays no reaction to them, while Mora rolls with a lot of shots and makes it appear he's getting touched far less than he is)

Vera threw more and landed more in virtually every round.

Do you know what body shots are? Yeah, well, Vera does even if you don't.

Granted, he missed a lot. However, by sheer volume thrown, he was still landing more than Mora (even just to the head, subtracting body shots) even if it was at a less flattering percentage.

Granted, Mora would occasionally have a single eye-catching shot or sequence of shots where he teed off on Vera's face. Those couple or handful of punches didn't swing the rounds his way, though, as he ran and curled up like a hedgehog the rest of the time while Vera pounded on him.

Last time a SD, this time a MD...

It really makes no sense, both ought to have been wide for Vera. :conf

BODY SHOTS! All Vera threw were ineffective flurries the whole damn fight. Vera didn't win more than 4 rounds.

Yeah, well he sure marked Mora up with those "ineffective" flurries.

So you're one of these idiots who sees a guy miss eight punches but land four, and the opponent lands one and you say "The opponent is winning!! Look at all that slickness, making him miss!!" - let alone that he got ****ing outlanded 4:1?

The only word for this is plain stupid. Vera literally bullied him. Nothing to it.

lol, give me a break dude. you act like my opinion is unacceptable. Yes yes, I'm one of those idiots that appreciates some defensive ability, willingness to fight off the ropes while not holding/clinching, and clean punches way too much. I'm sorry I missed all these bonecrushing body shots that weren't bouncing off arms and elbows. Yes, I know Vera threw a million punches and therefore you're allowed to use your 4 punches to 1 crap, go on. As if all 4 punches landed square on the body, when really 1 got in. It's like you deduct points from Mora for trying to be slick and showcase some defense, and give points to Vera for throwing ten thousand punches. All that said, I can understand the way you saw it, but I saw it differently, probably similar to what Ronnie Shields saw.

and I don't understand all the shitting on of Sergio Mora. Guy tries his best to be as skillful as possible. Probably sparred hundreds of rounds to try to get to the level he wants. I can understand his frustration, with the lack of appreciation for boxing skills. and I know the guy isn't James Toney or Niccolino Locche, but he tries to hit and not get hit, the name of the game.

Mora got outworked by a guy he could have outfought. Landed cleaner shots but not nearly enough of them. Hate to say it, but if Mora had power he'd be pretty formidable. But like they say, if your aunt had a dick she'd be your uncle.

Kudos to Vera for always leaving it all in the ring. Hope he lines up a payday against Canelo or the like.

I agree with Bobo. Vera did not land much of note and most of his flurries were slipped or landed on Mora's arms and shoulders. I usually don't like Mora as well, but he deserved to win.
