    Round 1

Sosa is first with a soaring left jab delivered from his temple out in a rainbow arc toward Belmontes'. Sosa repeats a few times and presses forward. Belmontes drops his arms to catch a few body jabs from Sosa on the point of the elbows. Belmontes is yet to fire a punch a minute in. Belmontes tries a left hook beneath the guard but shies off as Sosa flurries at him. Slashing hook from Belmontes while dancing around Sosa, missing but also dodging Sosa's continued hissing flurries. Belmontes is caught by an up-and-over left hook while throwing a 1-2. Belmontes dances around the ring, back against the ropes. Sosa lands a combination, punctuated with a solid right hand, though Belmontes rolls with the punches. Belmontes doubles a jab into Sosa's throat, partially trapped in between his wrists. Sosa lands a couple of hooks, and Belmontes is rocked. Down he goes.

    KO1!!!

WOW! Belmontes is a known tough entity, and has never been halted despite having faced: Omar Figueroa, Dierry Jean, Abner Cotto, Will Tomlinson, Francisco Vargas, Miguel Vazquez, Andrew Cancio, and Daniel Diaz. He went ten with all of them, and twelve with Figueroa, considered the biggest puncher at LW or close to it.

AFAIK his only prior knockdown before tonight was at the hands of Eric Hunter in 2012.

...and Sosa was giving up 4" of height and 2" of reach to a far more experienced guy that has given championship grade opponents a hard night's work.

    Round 1

Diaz is jabbing at the head and sweeping with the right as Santiago dives in on him, ramming his crown into Diaz's belt line. Santiago charges in with a left hook at the body, taking a drum-roll combo on the rear of the skull. Wide hook by Diaz, buried into Santiago's neck and stunted as Santiago rams into him. Lots of collisions here, more chest on chest thumping so far than punches landing. CRAZY sequence initiated by Diaz, going berserk with short hooks at mid-range. Santiago is caught and ROCKED! Down. Up. Blasted again, on jelly legs. Waved off.

    TKO1!!
