Magdaleno is skirting the ropes and flipping the right jab up at Castaneda as the taller man comes forward, rolling his upper body around and trying to line Magdaleno's head up for a 1-2. Magdaleno stays elusive, crouching and moving along the ropes. Big right hand leads and left hooks by Castaneda, the former ducked and the latter blocked or partially arm-checked. Low blow counter upper by Magdaleno, catching Castaneda on the way in. He is given time to recover. Magdaleno is measuring with the right jab while sliding backward, dragging his lead right foot. Castaneda keeps pressuring without giving up his height, throwing long but wild uppercuts.

10-9 Magdaleno but Castaneda was aggressive enough to make this relatively close.

Round 5

Magdaleno is dancing to his left a few steps at a time, sinking low to wait for Castaneda and then prodding with the right up-jab. Castaneda keeps advancing, arms up and lain against his face. Castaneda is jabbing from outside but not finding the head of Magdaleno. Constant crouching and head movement by Magdaleno, countering with right jabs and scoring with quickness and extra commitment to the follow-through step despite his much shorter reach. BIG flurry of uppercuts on the body by Castaneda pitching forward and trapping Magdaleno in a corner. Castaneda landing with several spanking slaps all over Magdaleno's sides. Chopping left hooks mixed in by Castaneda! Magdaleno rallies and responds with a short burst hooking combo - right, left, right. Castaneda is stunned but keeps slapping away. Another R-L-R hook grouping by Magdaleno and Castaneda goes to his knee and doesn't rise.

The way the commentators pronounce Falcão's name, it sounds very similar to "Pacquiao". (the way Filipinos actually pronounce it, as two syllables: Pa-kyow ...not three as the American media has popularized: Pah-key-ow...)
