Gutiérrez has even more pronounced advantages than Obando did - 4" of reach and half a foot of height over García ...but when last they met, the 5'4" García kayoed 5'10" Gutiérrez in 2.

Jesse "Manos de Fierro" García (hands of iron) going for the home run swing in the 1st. Loading up on some HUGE shots, but letting them fly carelessly, telegraphing. Gutiérrez is obviously aware of his pop and is covering up, not giving him much, or stepping in to smother his attacks by trading with him while hunched over him, with both men awkwardly making adjustments to shoot up & down at each other respectively.

Gutiérrez is finally dropped in the opening seconds of the 4th by a wild looping right from García, set up by a double jab feint. Sudden & savage, aesthetically pleasing knockdown to bring the crowd to life, and Gutiérrez is hurt but not badly enough to keep him from rising quickly with an embarrassed chuckle and continue to defend himself. Gutiérrez even starts to slug it out with García down the stretch, but has been comprehensively outfought by the much smaller man.

    Pretty obvious 40-35 decision here.

If somehow Team Brazil ends up going 2-0 here, it will be a massive upset. De Leon spars with the likes of Mikey Garcia and Jessie Vargas, and in the amateurs beat everybody from Jose Ramirez to Amir Imam.

Oh, and he was among the last kids to be trained by Emanuel Steward.

    Round 1

De Leon is parrying Silva's left jab on the pinky edge of his right glove, then positioning himself to skewer the chest with his straight left. Silva is twitching and swiveling above the waist, anticipating, looking to counter, but holding off until a good opportunity presents itself. One doesn't.

    10-9 De Leon

Damn I was considering chiming in earlier before getting lost in The Lounge for an hour, I was going to say, watch tonight it'll be one of those weird cases where the fighter is stopped by a guy no one thinks can stop him, where arguably bigger harder hitting fighters failed. Kind of like Porky Medina getting stopped by Jack and going the distance with Uzcategui and DeGale. But I didn't want to have it thrown in my face if I was wrong.

    Round 2

De Leon is putting in work, dribbling ones and twos off the guard of Silva, and suddenly hits paydirt with a solid left cross between the eyes, dropping Silva to a knee instantly. The ref gives a perfunctory count and Silva is getting battered against the ropes moment later. Down again, ruled a slip. De Leon is all over him, horned up. Big right hooks and spearing lefts. De Leon finally composes himself when he realizes Silva isn't as ready to keel over as it had seemed. De Leon puts in some vicious body work and Silva is down by the ropes. Again somehow not ruled a knockdown. More hard, short left uppercuts on the gut by De Leon and Silva clearly, inarguably down and given a count.

    10-7 De Leon

    20-16 De Leon

    Round 3

De Leon is hammering Silva into a corner, defenseless. De Leon pumps straights at him to keep him immobilized and swings hard around the gloves with both hands. Silva is sat on the middle rope under fire and the ref sends De Leon to a neutral corner, but Silva's body language is clearly saying "no mas". His people send in a towel just to bring the official up to speed, while De Leon is already climbing a turnbuckle and fist-pumping in celebration.

    TKO3!!!
