    Round 3

De Jesus is waiting as De Jesus finishes extending a left hook leaping halfway in. High jab by Diaz. Several hooks to the body by Diaz, making De Jesus back up and only pitch in uppercuts to the body while moving. Diaz is slamming down with the right hand, missing and grabbed. Diaz is hooking the body and brings it up. De Jesus is showing a nice chin. Big double hook from high to low by Diaz. Clinch. De Jesus is countering with skipping-stone rights and left hooks to the head of Diaz. Hard body shot by Diaz. Right hand to the jaw by Diaz. De Jesus is pushed back, throwing wild hooks with both hands. Diaz lands a six punch combo, very fast. Uppercut by Diaz. De Jesus leans back and puts out his jab, then leans in again propping up against Diaz. Left hooks to the body traded.

    10-9 Diaz

    30-27 Diaz

    Round 4

De Jesus is hitting the body and fading to his right. Diaz marches him down and thrusts a hard jab up high. Diaz is barking as he throws, old habits returning. De Jesus is slashed with a right hand from above. De Jesus circles away with his left arm low and right glove up by his chin, twisting away, pretending he is slick. Diaz just walks in and bashes him into the ropes with heavy right hands. The ref pushes them apart when Diaz pushes into De Jesus on the ropes. Jabs by Diaz pressing in. Light counter hooks by De Jesus. Hard right hand by Diaz. Left hook to the body, right hand to the face by Diaz. De Jesus backs out. they trade hooks to the body. HARD 1-2 by Diaz. De Jesus is hurt. De Jesus acts slick again, using the shoulder roll. Diaz tosses several jabs over the left shoulder, tagging and buzzing De Jesus. Diaz explodes with long fast combos pushing De Jesus into the ropes, all over him. Soft hooks to the body by De Jesus, still not having entirely regained his faculties - wobbling from the force of his own thrown shots.

    10-9 Diaz

    40-36 Diaz

Always a big Baby Bull fan, just can't see him beating many of the top guys, but it will always be fun watching him try. He's a good kid.

    Round 5

Hard left hooks to the body by Diaz. De Jesus is looking to contain him, pushing down on his arms. De Jesus is shoved back and flurried into the ropes. HARD RIGHT HAND by Diaz, snapping De Jesus' head back. Another one. De Jesus is going to get whiplash from any more of those, his neck turning very elastic. Diaz keeps pressing in and dropping that big overhand right. Looping right above the hip by Diaz, refocusing on the body. Diaz throws an extended combo to the head. Several rights connect and De Jesus seems to be out on his feet, moving backward listlessly and taking punishment. The ref jumps in.

    TKO5!!

I've been very surprised how sharp he is looking in his comeback.

De Jesus was a trickier opponent than Pipino Cuevas Jr. and is pretty tough despite having been stopped a few times and down several times in his career. He went the distance with Marco Antonio Barrera and probably should have been allowed to with Gamboa (stopped in the last round very prematurely)

    Diaz just manhandled him.

I'm trying not to get nostalgic and overrate Diaz's chances at 140, but he truly is looking pretty good...

    Round 1

Williams is putting in right jabs on his fellow southpaw, jerking away when Chacon shows a feint. Williams is very elusive, jabbing the body and getting out. Chacon isn't slow and is taking aim well, but just can't find Williams. Too much fluid movement and well-schooled positioning by Williams.

    10-9 Williams

    Round 2

Williams is patiently holding back as Chacon flashes triple jabs at him, widening his stance and bending away, then tossing quick accurate single right jabs snapping forward. Williams is dancing left to right and jabbing when he gets out to Chacon's flanks. Clinch. Chacon holds up his right glove in the air like a mitt, perhaps trying to draw a Williams jab so he can counter. Boos from the crowd. It's pretty slow in there, in fairness. Jabs to the body by Williams reaching in from a safe distance.

    10-9 Williams

    20-18 Williams
