Round 1

Sanchez is skipping back and remaining in a defensive shell as Diaz walks forward and forks out a jab. Diaz tries a few reaches down to the body as Sanchez continues to step around in a nonstop clockwise orbit. Double jab by Sanchez, changing direction. 1-2 by Sanchez, catching Diaz on the temple with the grazing right. Diaz jabs into the arms, and touches Sanchez's body with a right. 1-2 to the midsection by Diaz, dodged. Combination to the body by Diaz. Sanchez steps outside, jabbing into Diaz's gloves. Diaz leaps in and sweeps a hook across Sanchez's throat. Big combo by Diaz, getting inside and crowding Sanchez against the ropes.

Round 2

Diaz is slipping jabs on the way in, and slaps out a throwaway left hook up top. Diaz jabs into the forearms of Sanchez, then ducks forward and blocks as Sanchez tries a few jabs to create space. Sanchez circles away, moving left, jabbing down at Diaz. Sanchez overextends with a 1-2, ducked. Diaz walks into a jab but keeps carefully working his way inside, guard up, throwing the 1-2 to the face and hooking the body. HARD left hook/right hand combo drops Sanchez in a heap!! He rises quickly, perhaps too quickly. Indeed, Diaz is able to leap in and catch him with a looping right. Sanchez's reflexes are still a bit out of whack. Diaz is marching in with swagger now, slipping Sanchez's jabs and putting in body work. Right hand up top by Diaz, trying to hold Sanchez on the ropes and club down on him.

Round 3

Sanchez is trying to jab from long range, but Diaz slips with a turn of his head and counters with a big right over the top. Diaz is jabbing the body persistently while following Sanchez around the ring. Left hook to the ribs by Diaz as Sanchez skirts away from the ropes. Diaz loops a right into the midsection and then doubles it up as Sanchez is circling away, before his arms can drop protectively into position. BIG right hand by Diaz, just missing. It carries him in close where he holds and hits. Diaz has no respect for Sanchez's jab, just walking through it and sending shots hurtling up top. Diaz still isn't entirely devoid of defensive tricks or inclination, however, still tilting his head and slipping some jabs and catching others on the goalposts on the way in.

Round 4

Sanchez is inching back and slapping down at Diaz's head with both arms. Diaz hooks the body. Sanchez digs a few of his own as Diaz grinds into him. Diaz's body shots are harder and more plentiful. Sanchez is clapping down from above with his bony arms, and trying to line up jabs to the face while backing up. Diaz is giving him no quarter, marching in, weaving on the inside, throwing hard body shots and trying to double Sanchez over. HARD left hook to the stomach and right hand to the jaw by Diaz, hurting Sanchez very badly. Time runs out.

Round 5

Sanchez is getting ripped with body shots and backed up by chopping overhands to the face. Diaz leans against Sanchez and works an uppercut, but isn't as accurate with it, fists sailing up behind Sanchez's shoulder. Sanchez rests his head on Diaz, swinging his long arms out behind himself and then into Diaz like wrecking balls. Diaz chips away at the body and brings his attack upstairs with a right hand. Diaz wrestles Sanchez across the ring, pushing at his abdomen. They deliver simultaneous left hooks, Sanchez to the face and Diaz to the body. Sanchez is more hurt. Diaz drills him toward a corner with a big power combo. Diaz is teeing off! There's the ref!!

Daniel Franco vs. Jesus Sandoval, 4 rounds @ super featherweight

 

Yeah, he's presently hosing a post-fight Cuddle Party in his room at the Foxwoods MGM Grand.

Him, Jason Escalera, Julie Lederman...it's downright PG-13 bacchanalia!

 

Round 1

Franco sticks his left jab and circles left. Sandoval barks and flaps his way inside, missing several punches. Franco squeezes his arms together and twists his upper body to shrink himself as a target. Jabs by Franco, patiently waiting for spots to open up when Sandoval comes in firing wildly. Sandoval tries to hold and hit. Sandoval is caught with a straight right while circling with his arms lowered. Sandoval circles and puts up a right jab. Clinch, and Sandoval smacks the back of Franco's head with his left. Sandoval skips away from the break and nearly gets pinned on the ropes as Franco steps in with a 1-2. Sandoval stands pat as Franco gets close, then springs away at the last moment before Franco can open up.

Round 2

Sandoval is ducking Franco's right hand, hanging back. Sandoval keeps his right arm crooked low at his side, trying to hide his face behind his left glove. Lunging left by Sandoval from outside, missing. Franco misses a right, and another, but lands a third as he keeps pumping it out. Sandoval whips out a right hook and sashays off the ropes. Franco jabs in on him and they collide chest to chest as Sandoval darts forward. No clinch. Sandoval lunges with another left and falls short again. Sloppy action on the inside. Franco puts a glove up to his ear, cupping it, listening to the growing chant of "Danny" in the crowd and smirking at Sandoval. 1-2 to the body by Franco. Sandoval circles away and tries to throw a left uppercut and right jab at the same time, missing both. Franco keeps backing him up with the jab.

20-18 Franco

 

Round 3

Franco is throwing a bow-and-arrow 1-2, and trying to dip and hook the body when extended forward. Sandoval is flipping his arms up and down in reply, but getting the worst of the exchanges and giving up lots of ground. Franco triples a jab and tosses a right to chase Sandoval nearly to the ropes. Sandoval backhands a right jab and gets his cheek nicked by Franco's left. Sandoval tries to flurry his way in and gets DRILLED in the nose with a hard straight counter right, his own forward momentum working against him. He beats the count, dazed. Franco smashes him into the ropes, big left hooks!!

TKO!!
