Round 1

DaLuz trying to catch Bones' punches in his mitts. Bones shows decent handspeed with his jab and infrequent straight right leads but not putting combos together. DaLuz tries to dart in and out landing on the move against the taller opponent, like Ibragimov vs. Briggs...he just isn't doing much landing.

Round 2

Bones (pronounced Boh-Niz by the Spanish commentators) is sticking with the 1-2 in trying to find the slippery DaLuz. DaLuz for his part is ducking under the punches and trying to land his own but not getting close enough (or getting close enough and just missing outright). Bones landed enough jabs to take it.

Round 3

Bones landing a bit more now, but DaLuz showboating and slipping punches with his hands at his sides just out of Bones' long reach. DaLuz gives the impression he'll be happy to go the six round distance. They go head to head (literally) and trade body shots. Bones keeps DaLuz' face bouncing at the end of his jab. DaLuz tries sweeping right hands to the body but comes up short. DaLuz eats a right hand as he slides along the ropes. More showboating from DaLuz.

30-27 Bones

 

Round 4

Bones investing in some body work. DaLuz is spending most of the round in a turtle shell. They wind up in a clinch and literally dosey-do. For those of you who have never square-danced, the dosey-do is a move where...actually, go look it up. Funnier that way. Bones lands a short right hand that has DaLuz in trouble. DaLuz runs diagonally across the ring. DaLuz tries to fight out the last twenty seconds to keep Bones from trying to finish him off. A 1-2 lands through the gloves for Bones right at the bell.

40-36 Bones

 

Round 5

Bones is trying to end it, going hard to the body. DaLuz is mostly negative, but does stop to smell the roses once in a while, throwing overhand rights up at the neck area of Bones before popping back into a high guard. Bones continues to throw 1-2s at the guard, while ripping some shots underneath it. A nice quick hook lands for DaLuz on Bones' chin. DaLuz walks right into an uppercut and quickly beats a retreat. DaLuz does a little Ali shuffle and runs in and out of punching range, showboating as he has in almost every round - while losing every round.

 

Round 6

Bones connects with all of his jabs and most of his rights. DaLuz is emboldened now, and begins to cleave to Bones, trying to make it into more of a Toughman contest. DaLuz loads up on wild telegraphed shots that sail over and behind Bones' head. Bones continues to stick the jab in his face. DaLuz slips a couple of jabs and throws an insane hail-mary overhand from his hip that misses. Bones backs up and jabs at DaLuz, then catches him chasing in with an uppercut.

This shouldn't be scored anything other than a shutout for Bones.

For a guy with the nickname "Don't Lose", DaLuz seems perfectly content to clown his way to a points defeat (what will be his 25th). Maybe he's an optimistic, pyrrhic-victory kind of guy - maybe he only considers it "losing" if you get knocked out. :conf

- En una division tiene buen tamaano para quedarse en la misma

- Claro que si es untipo muy grande y la fortaleza de sus golpes lo va a llavar a grandes alturas.

- Siempre mantuvo el ritmo en la pelea. Siempre fue un rival dificil. El loco mostro mucha defensiva pero lo logro.
