That would be an interesting clash of lefties. Ramos can't afford to get stupid and macho in that one; Gesta has a lot more pop than his KO ratio suggests and is also pretty quick and fundamentally solid himself.

We get one more bonus fight, thanks to the early KO courtesy of Kirkland.

A scheduled 4-rounder (listed on Boxrec as 6 rounds but probably changed to accommodate the TV slot) between Mexican sluggers Antonio Orozco and Manuel Aguilar - a combined 14-1 (9).

Still in the 140 lb. division.

    Round 1

Aguilar starts with a tentatively thrown right hand, but from there it is all Orozco offensively. Orozco is coming forward with his arms pinned to the sides of his head and exploding with hard lead rights up high, 1-2's, and left hooks to the body. Hard body shots by Orozco. Aguilar is just pawing with his punches while backing up against the ropes. Wild hook misses by Aguilar and Orozoco seized the opening, punishing Aguilar with several hard punches including a laser-like 1-2 to the face and a hard left hook to the body. Aguilar takes a knee and is waved off halfway through the count.

They're pretty close to being in the same league. If forced to pick, I'd go with Gesta by late stoppage.

There isn't a lot of Ramos footage on the web. You can find his 4-round shutout win over Walter Estrada if you Google it.

He also knocked out Allen Litzau (Jason's brother) and sent Sandro Marcos into retirement with a multiple knockdown stoppage...and has a shutout win over reliable gatekeeper and distance-laster Cristian Favela.

His fight with Allotey was good, too. You can at least read my call of it, although it doesn't appear to be up on Youtube or anything. :conf

Ramos' body type is always going to hinder him. He's like a little baby T-Rex next to most lightweights or light welterweights...but I doubt he could cut down to super featherweight.

Only for a split second, and not badly. His back foot came off the ground and had a shaky touchdown after he took an overhand right that Berrio threw while leaned back against the ropes about halfway through the 1st. Kirkland shook it off and continued to kick his ass almost immediately.

Kirkland hit Berrio with a hook as he was taking a knee. Split moment later and Berrio could have pulled Dirrell.
