    Round 5

Landeros leads with his jab in the beginning moments, while Lopez moves laterally and boxes. Lopez starts working in some really nice counter one-twos and jabs to the body and starts to assume control. Landeros slows his offense down to intermittent jabs and just follows while getting hit, not making adjustments. Lopez slaps at the gloves of Landeros with his jab. A jab up high gets Landeros to lift his guard and Lopez plugs him in the belly with a left. Lopez trying to look slick now, moving side to side and bending at the waist, throwing left hands from different angles. Landeros is backed into the ropes with a hard whipping body shot. The ref calls for a break and Landeros charges Lopez into the opposite set of ropes with busy hands.

    10-9 Lopez

    50-44 Lopez

    Round 6

Landeros tries to bully his way in but Lopez is still boxing too well for him, moving and jabbing, countering with straight left hands. Landeros has a few false starts, body feinting and starting to charge forward before pulling back and resetting. Lopez whacks him into the ropes and slaps him a bit, keeping him leaning on the ropes at the end of his long arms. Landeros starts throwing a shorter version of his lead right with an extra step-through but still isn't quite reaching. Lopez misses with a wild right haymaker. Landeros jabs and Lopez seizes the opening to rush inside and land four or five pitty pats before the bell.

    60-53 Lopez

    Round 7

Landeros is trying to worm his way in on Lopez but is getting his face stamped with the jab regularly. Lopez now shifts gears and comes at Landeros with low left hands to the body. Lopez straightens up and lays of the pursuit, going back to circling and jabbing. Landeros trots in with wide arcing combo punching. Lopez is backed into a corner but not hit with much. Landeros catches Lopez circling with a jab on the jaw. Landeros falls just short with a jab and brings a looping right behind it that just whizzes past the chin of Lopez. Landeros keeps clubbing with the right hand and forces Lopez to the ropes and roughs him up a bit.

That was almost a Landeros round. :think

    Round 8

Landeros lands a tomahawk 1-2 while backing up. Lopez is now throwing arm punches, backing Landeros up when he does, but otherwise being the one in reverse when his hands are idle. Landeros stays in front of Lopez, guard up high, and forces his way inside with some right uppers and short little body taps.

    Landeros 10-9

    Lopez 79-72

Southpaws from the Philippines can't really avoid being branded with the "next Pacquiao" thing, Freddy. If it was a 22 year old Mexican with similar experience, would you have a problem with them taking on a Trazancos type at this point? At least Gesta has progressed to opponents with winning records. :yep

This wasn't a challenge but it was good TV exposure (for what it's worth, on Telefutura). You can plainly see the kid is talented. He's just about on the precipice of needing to quit screwing around. He's been basing himself out of the US and fighting here for three years now. It's time to step up.

    it's just annoying bro..
especially with gesta there in the ring trying to show off and flex his skills vs a no hoper like trazcanos........should've thrown in chatito jauregui in there and i bet you anything he probably would've kicked gestas ass......

and they hardly ever do that with mexicans bro, unless of course it's another mexican he's fighting....

but when do you ever see mexican prospects in there with ricans or fillipinos with records like that when they're supposed to be at the next level already........

Filipinos with record like Trazancos can't make it to the US of A. So it's very rare for Mexican prospects to fight Pinoy bums unless he will go to the Philippines.:D

Ohh so he's US-based already. He could be "the next Donaire" instead of "the next Pacquiao"...:D
