Chavez is hurting Arrazola with jabs! Arrazola spits out his gum shield! A point is deducted from Arrazola. He did that in an earlier round but it had looked at the time like it could have been unintentional. Chavez rushes in and continues to make Arrazola blink and flinch with sharp right jabs. The left hand is less successful for Chavez, dragging from behind the back and missing or grazing the side of Arrazola's long body. Arrazola dances away but then stands and squares up. Chavez trots in and lands a left uppercut bang on the bottom of the chin. Arrazola tries to octopus him. 1-2 by Chavez, growing arm-weary. Arrazola pushes down on his back as they press together. Jabs by Chavez. Pistol-whip left by Chavez, partially blocked. Arrazola is flopping around, holding. Arrazola is knocked into the ropes but springs off them with a wild flurry.

****; after that unexpected turn of events (fair officiating! Maybe I misjudged this guy...) Chavez actually has an excellent chance to pull this off without needing a KO...at least on my card.

In Chiapas? No way, Jose.

Round 6

Chavez is landing some big windmill lefts over the chiseling right jab. Arrazola is getting rocked seven ways to Sunday but won't go down - thanks in large part to aiming his falls so that Chavez breaks them, constantly flopping into his assailant using him to stay up. Chavez jabs until he is exhausted, whereupon Arrazola takes his turn flurrying but misses and just flops in to clinch. Wild slaps exchanged, both missing. Lead left hand by Chavez, quickly turned into an uppercut. Both power shots smash into Arrazola's shoulder.

Boo - wait. Oh ****. I had the names backward. Arrazola is the shorter guy.

So, uh - good decision...and swap the names in all my preceding RBR posts.

 

Martin Tecuapetla vs. Adolfo Pena, 6 rounds @ super flyweight

 

I just tuned into TyC Sports in time for the end of that one. :-(

Had I known this wasn't live, never would've done it.

 

Round 1

Tecuapetla is pushing Pena around the ring with a busy left jab and some body shots, Pena thrusting out his arms to create some room. BOOM! Giant overhand right by Pena in the last minute, flooring Tecuapetla hard and stealing the round.

Round 2

Tecuapetla is backed up with forceful rights to the body and gets his jab into Pena's face from long range. Tecuapetla is able to box him and limit Pena to a few bowling balls to the body from outside.

Round 3

They scrap in close, and Pena gets in a wide hook as Tecuapetla backs up. 1-2 over the shoulder by Tecuapetla. Pena is turned and jabbed at. Tecuapetla switches southpaw and taps Pena with a couple of right jabs as they continue turning like sundials around the Tecate logo. Pena lunges in with hard body shots and cannonball rights up top. Tecuapetla backs out and keeps Pena on the end of his long left jab. Left hook, chopping right, left hook by Tecuapetla - all sloppy and loose, missing as Pena turtles up. Long jab by Tecuapetla. Another jab by Tecuapetla, pulling back to slip a few head shots from Pena. Right to the body by Tecuapetla, but he is hurt by a short left hook and staggered back. Pena smells blood and rushes in to open up, twenty seconds left. Tecuapetla swats back at him. Tecuapetla gets outside and sticks the jab to the body.
