    Round 4

Zepeda pecks with his jab, but gets rocked back with a hard left hook. Zepeda has some puffiness around his left eye (presumably from earlier right hands of Diaz, as he hasn't landed one yet this round). Zepeda is dancing around, getting herded to the ropes and throwing out counter uppercuts while moving his feet. Five or six shot flurry by Zepeda, coming in from many angles. Diaz is trying to cut the ring off. Diaz starts to hook but it's so badly telegraphed he just abandons it halfway there. You can't even call it a feint. It was a "**** it, nevermind". Again Zepeda makes the mistake of getting caught against the ropes. Diaz chops away with hard right hands and starts putting some left hooks in there, landing to the head with everything. Zepeda just takes it all. Now Zepeda flurries a bit and then clinches before a break is called. Zepeda spoils until the bell.

    38-38

So far Toño has actually lost most of each round through four, but in two of them he's managed to hurt Zepeda and trap him briefly on the ropes.

If boxing was scored by minutes, Zepeda would be up like 11 to 1.

    Round 5

Zepeda lands jabs and hooking combos, all while on the move. Diaz chases and throws the overhand right from too far away, falling in behind it. Diaz lands a bit better with the left hook right up close as they lean together. Body shots by Diaz as Zepeda hangs himself up across him like a fur coat on a rack. Diaz is taking his time, and paying dearly for it. Zepeda lands hooks to the body and jabs to the face while Diaz is getting set and deciding on what to do. Diaz looks a bit clueless. Lunging hooks by Diaz, missing. Zepeda lands three body shots.

    10-9 Zepeda

    48-47 Zepeda

    Round 6

Diaz walks onto multiple jabs to the face and combos that are growing sharper and bolder as Zepeda gets into a rhythm while boxing on the back foot. Diaz again lands a right and seems to have a foothold with Zepeda slightly hurt, pushing him into the ropes. Zepeda just straightens himself like a plank and leans against them, taking shots. Finally Zepeda tilts himself into Diaz and ties up to push off and spin himself to safety. Again Diaz gets him on the ropes and unloads several hard punches. Most miss, but Zepeda is hurt by a couple of body shots. Zepeda is trying to lean forward and rest against Diaz. Now Zepeda takes a turn with several hard hooks to the body as Diaz slows down. The crowd is loving it. Hard 1-2 by Zepeda, yanks him off his feet and makes him miss his follow-up hook as he's kicking his feet in mid-air and landing off balance.

    10-9 Diaz

So damn close, though. Zepeda winning early and late, with Diaz doing damage in the middle.

    Round 7

Diaz is putting his head down and coming forward like a bull. Uppercuts from Diaz. Zepeda is bicycling from one miniature Tecate logo to the next, completely circumventing the large one in the middle of the ring. Zepeda is throwing uppercuts once at a time when Diaz gets near him, but otherwise not looking to counter much as he runs. Diaz catches him against the ropes and lands some hard overhand rights. Now a slapping left hook to the pit, cracking against Zepeda's bicep in an effort to get that guard to lower. Diaz keeps pouring it on.

    10-9 Diaz

    Round 8

Diaz chases and slaps with hooks, missing. Zepeda is hopping around in wide circles. Long jab by Zepeda. Diaz throws a 1-2 that gets blocked but drives Zepeda back several steps. Nice right hand by Diaz, thrown over a Zepeda jab. They have a vicious exchange by the ropes as Diaz nearly trips over his own feet. Zepeda lands several blistering head shots, forcing Diaz's head to shake as he stiffens his neck to hold it in place. Damn. Zepeda is landing lots of hard clean head shots now as they circle rapidly. Diaz now comes back and lands hard body shots! Zepeda is on the ropes! Zepeda is dropped by an uppercut to the body! Zepeda gets up and strafes along the ropes as Diaz keeps drilling him. Another body shot knockdown!! No! Ruled a slip!!

10-8 Diaz! And he was losing that round!

    Corner stoppage!! Diaz wins!

Did Zepeda quit on his stool, or was the call made by a third party? (corner, doctor or referee) :huh
