Humbero Zatarain vs. Rocco Espinoza - 4 rounds @ featherweight.

Both are undefeated. Three pro bouts between them. Neither has knocked anyone out.

 

Round 1

Whoa! Quick flash knockdown scored by Zatarain! Espinoza looks more annoyed than hurt and starts to drive at him with rights to the body. Espinoza is WIDE OPEN. No defense. And DOWN HE GOES AGAIN. Hard this time. Boom-boom, a really nice pair-of-hammers combo by Zatarain. Again Espinoza is up and swarming immediately. Zatarain tries to line up his 1-2, feeling it's just a matter of time before he connects again on the sweet spot. Stiff jab snaps Espinoza's head back. Still, Espinoza is the one coming forward as he aggressively swarms Zatarain all over the ring. Down a THIRD time from a straight counter. Hooks to the face by Zatarain. Now Espinoza punches with him. Exciting!!!

A ten six ****ing round, and this could still go the distance. I love it.

 

Round 2

Now Espinoza is bossing Zatarain around, digging hooks to the body. Looping right by Espinoza. Zatarain runs and tries to establish his jab in stride. Espinoza just smashes his way in, nothing elegant about it. Espinoza walks through and shrugs off a 1-2 by Zatarain. Hook by Zatarain has no effect. He isn't dropping Espinoza when he lands flush anymore. Now Espinoza leans on him and windmills with his right, but misses. Uppercut by Espinoza. Zatarain flurries and turns him, and drops him once more! This was a head shot. Espinoza looks slightly rattled now, and his mouth is bleeding. Now Espinoza has Zatarain buzzed and scrambling for the ropes from a succession of hooks and uppercuts swarming in. Zatarain leaves his arms held out after a slow 1-2 and just shoves at Espinoza with them, brushing him aside.

Round 3

Espinoza follows, hooking away to his heart's content. Zatarain puts a jab in his face but it doesn't seem to cause Espinoza to falter or even blink. Zatarain is getting clobbered into the ropes, with Espinoza making most of his contact with his bony forearms but still getting the job done as he consistently applies his ugly but effective pressure. Zatarain is dropping his hands while backing up (on ever slower feet) and is getting tagged.

Espinoza actually won that round.
