Solo Boxeo Tecate: Argenis Mendez vs. Martin Honorio II RBR

It takes more than half a twelve-rack to affect me much. :yep

...and more than a whole bunch of flush power punches from a guy who definitely has pop (knocked down teak-tough Salgado late in his loss to him) to hurt Martin Honorio much, apparently. :blood

Honorio comes slapping in, head down. Mendez backs up, taking a light precipitation to the body but nothing clean up top. The ref takes a point from Honorio for leading with his head, after multiple warnings throughout the night. Honorio is flurrying in toward Mendez, who's waiting on the ropes. FLUSH uppercut by Mendez. Left hook to the jaw. God damn it, Honorio simply doesn't feel pain. Clinch, Mendez holding onto Honorio's left arm. Honorio dives in with a jab and gets caught in a headlock.

This fight is by no means pretty, but it's making for a fine nightcap to what's been a satisfying day of fights in all. :bbb

 

Round 10

Honorio is all over Mendez, giving him no room to breathe. Mendez's slick defenses are failing him now as Honorio crowds him by the ropes and just slaps all over him with both hands. Mendez still going with low output, but he's not finding any of that range that works for him because Honorio is constantly on top of him. It's all Honorio, slapping away. Honorio drums out a beat on Mendez's flanks and hips.
