Arcos presses into Smith and carries him to the ropes. Separation. BIG right hand by Arcos. Smith pops a few jabs, and gets Arcos into a corner. They tangle up and both throw while having their arms twisted around. Smith ducks in and gets clapped on the chest and back by a wild flurry from Arcos. Smith is getting clobbered every time he tries to duck into Arcos, but keeps going for it. Smith should stick to the outside where he's more effective IMO. BIG overhand right for Smith. Right to the body and a left hook up top by Smith. Arcos is throwing back with bad intentions but Smith is defending well between his spurts. Some high guard and bobbing action by Smith before working the body. Arcos spits his mouthpiece out after taking a huge uppercut that knocks out his wind! Cortez doesn't see it. Now Arcos pushes Smith to the ropes and works him over with hard body shots!

They come right together and start hooking away. Really good action. Smith is pushed to the ropes and caught with an uppercut inside. Now Smith explodes and drives Arcos back across the ring. Hard overhand rights by Smith. Both getting absolutely smeared with punches! It's a knuckle sandwich all you can eat buffet and they're starving! Just toe to toe nonstop banging. Now they slow down, with a minute left. Arcos works the body. Clinch. BIG uppercut under the chin by Smith as Arcos was relaxing. Smith comes forward and throws out a high jab, ducked. Hook to the face by Smith as Arcos tries to lean down on him. Arcos on the ropes, tagged by a hard right to the face. Another uppercut by Smith. BIG right by Arcos as Smith came forward carelessly!

Smith wins by TKO between rounds 3 & 4 due to a cut caused by punches.

 

Joel Diaz Jr. vs. Esteban "Junglehead" Nichol, 4 rounds @ super featherweight.

 

Round 1

Diaz throws some hard hooks downward at the shorter man and almost slips off balance. Nichol is a blur of movement, arms tucked in tight against his chest with his gloves by his chin. Diaz works around and through the guard with a mixture of jabs, hooks and uppercuts. Nichol is getting sprung around above the waist while blocking shots, moved by their sheer force. Nichol is knocked down by an accumulation, and beats the count at eight. Perfect right hand shaves his hair back and puts Nichol on a knee. The count is abandoned at six.
