Shitty attitude. You are obviously awake now. Watch boxing.

Then nap, and set your alarm for Jones-Lebedev to kick off the long day of boxing tomorrow.

    I mean, come on!

    Round 6

The brutality continues. Rios is putting everything he has into straight 3-4 punch combos, and Kevlishvili is winging hooks into his head as he comes in. Hard shoeshine to the face by Rios (and really it's almost too vicious to even use a quaint term like "shoeshine"). Kevlishvili is turning southpaw and flicking out a lefty 1-2 while backing up. Kevlishvili is trying to figure something out. He's done trading with Rios and you can see the gears turning in his head. He circles out and jabs. Rios just walks him down and clubs him against the ropes. Hard stuff from Rios. HUGE left hook. Rios staggers as Kevlishvili counters him with a straight left out of that southpaw stance. Kevlishvili drops his hands and then pulls some weird move, dragging his hands behind him like he was carrying a Little Red Wagon. WTF is that??? Rios makes him pay by ripping his face up with a few rights. Damn.

    59-55 Rios

    Round 7

Rios pumps a hard 1-2, catching Kevlishvili across the face despite the Georgian's attempts to elude him with footwork. Kevlishvili is too tired to stray far, and lacks the strength to tie up or push Rios back with a shoulder-lean. Kevlishvili is looking a bit anxious, hopping around and throwing lead rights. Kevlishvili darts in with a jab and then quickly retreats. Rios stalks, and slides back with surprising agility for someone who's been swinging for the fences for half an hour straight. Kevlishvili is picking him off with those dart-in jabs now, and Rios gets sick of it and decides to clinch with a bear-hug around the midsection. Rios now is dancing around on the outside. Strange role reversal. Kevlishvili comes forward with purpose, trying to line Rios up with a right hand. Rios comes under fire on the ropes, and ducks away while taking rabbit punches. Kevlishvili keeps hitting him and Rios clinches. What the hell is going on?? How did the dynamic of this fight change so quickly and with such subtlety in the middle of a round???

:think I think Kevlishvili stole it with that second half.

    68-65 Rios

    Round 8

Big round of applause. Awesome. Good crowd. They know they got a treat.

...and it isn't over!! They punch together, and land together. These are serious hurting blows, being delivered by guys who've been administrating and receiving serious hurting blows for most of seven consecutive three-minute rounds. They get back into the cat and mouse pattern with Rios as the cat. Kevlishvili is a very violent mouse, however. Rios will take a step forward, start letting his hands go and find Kevlishvili just stopping in his tracks to throw back at him. They slow down a little. Rios looks to set up his power behind a jab, but Kevlishvili is tapping him down low and getting back outside without paying for it. Rios puts his hardhat back on and starts to tenderize Kevlishvili's face with the right hand again, backing him up. Kevlishvili is pushed to the ropes (still throwing back) and ducks down where he gets his head batted around. They keep wailing away until they crash together. The referee gently guides the two exhausted warriors apart as neither can sum up the energy to push off into range.

    The bell rings.

THANK YOU RONNY RIOS AND GEORGI KEVLISHVILI!! :happy

This war will be staying on my DVR for a while.

If I'm feeling particularly munificent (and it doesn't pop up on Youtube by then) I might even record it on my cell phone and upload it sometime this weekend for those who missed it - in some cases willfully. :)twisted:)

    Round 1

Huerta pops a quick double jab into Martin's face. Huerta is coming forward, and slices a hook just short of Martin's chin. Martin is backsliding and keeping his palms turned out, close together in front of his face with his back scrunched up high. Martin doesn't look as relaxed and loose as usual. Huerta is just jabbing inside effortlessly and lands a right hand against the top of Martin's head. Huerta just keeping the jab in Martin's face. Martin isn't getting touched with it very much, but isn't responding to it except to move away. Huerta is doubling it with every release, and snapping it pretty damn quick. Martin misses a 1-2 to the body. Now a 1-2 up high. Huerta is pretty fleet-footed dancing off to the side. Jab to the face by Huerta. Martin takes some jabs on the gloves but a few sneak through and clip him on the mouth. Martin misses a right to the body.

Wow. This is not how I saw this going. Martin was supposed to give him a boxing lesson, and it's starting out the other way around.

    10-9 Huerta

    Round 2

Huerta is still active and sharp with his jab. Martin can't get going, because the jab flies between his gloves every time he looks to open up. Martin circles quickly off to the left and gets in position to drop a jab to the body before tightening back up. WHOA! Short right hand by Huerta turns Martin's chin off to the side. Martin goes fishing to the body, and still looks very high-strung as he glides around Huerta. Martin is stepping to try and grab behind the head with his left and throw uppercuts. Huerta stands in with him and drills him with an overhand right. Martin gets on the outside and opens up to throw a long right hand but takes a brutal wind-sapping left hook to the diaphragm instead. Huerta gets jabbed in the face but doesn't slow his roll, staying on top of Martin and backing him up, making him a nervous wreck and nearly trapping him on the ropes.

    20-18 CH

    Round 3

Martin is completely shelled up, drifting off and pawing at his face with his right glove and nearly getting caught blind with straight shots from Huerta. What is wrong with Martin?? :huh He does not look at all at ease in the ring. Sick, maybe? Huerta is putting it on him, hooks to the body and jabs to the face. MARTIN answers with an enormous hook that lands perfectly. Big crowd reaction. Huerta shrugs it off and keeps throwing. Nasty shots landing to the face and sides of the head as Martin tries to duck and move to defray the damage. Huerta is very patient with his shot selection and not allowing Martin any quarter. A chant starts up for Huerta and it seems to energize him as he rips hard hooks into Martin's ribs. Good little exchange, Martin holding firm. Now Martin has got an uppercut going. Here come Martin! Straight right hand! Huerta then tags him right back and chases him across the ring into the ropes.

This is heating right up. :bbb
