Great round, I don't know if Martin can keep it up though, he had some nice counters and upper cuts.

    Round 4

Huerta is still getting his way, doing all his work behind the fast double jab and getting plenty of power shots in. Martin reduced to wild can-openers off the back foot. Huerta dogging him, getting in with jabs and hooks with his legs carrying him inexorably on. Martin is countering as much as he can while staying on the go, as Huerta is brutalizing him whenever he stands in place. Martin pops his jab and circles off the ropes. Martin starts to wing left hooks out to the side. Huerta picks them off and keeps jabbing in at the target. Martin misses several body shots.

    Round 5

Huerta is doubling the jab while circling left and finding that Martin has brought his own jab to the party. They are landing simultaneously now, and now Martin is landing the jab as Huerta misses his. Huerta is trying to find that body with the left hook again but isn't getting inside as easy anymore. Martin is actually scoring with that high winging left hook as he backs off. Martin is finding his timing, but is stumbling around a bit, tripping over his own feet. Martin certainly looks more confident.

    49-46 Huerta

Huerta looks like he is gassing, not to much effective work done that round, but he definitely seems to still have more power in his punches than Martin.

    Round 6

Huerta walks right into a bent-arm overhand right. Another one. Martin is getting crazy awkward. Martin finding his offense while being pursued. Long jabs, winging hooks, cannonball rights. Huerta is missing his own jab now, just thrusting it out once at a time and looking tired. Martin is whacking him around the side up high with that roaming left hook, catching him by the ear. Martin starts to pop his 1-2 inside and rolls with Huerta's punches, turning his cheek with them voluntarily. Martin slaps with a hook and then flicks a jab into Huerta's face. Martin is touching him with hooks to the body, just lightly. Hook up top. Martin blocks most of a Huerta flurry. Martin loads up on an uppercut and they collide together into a clinch before the bell.

    58-56 Huerta

Martin is in control now, he is neutralizing Huerta's pressure, beautiful countering the body. Had a nice point in the round where he stood his ground and was just slipping and countering the the body.

    Round 7

Martin is getting his jabs in, then creeping around Huerta with serpentine movements, ducking hooks and landing his own to the body. Huerta can't get off cleanly anymore. Martin has just made minor adjustments from the early rounds and completely shut Huerta down. His shoulders are turning in to catch shots, the placement of his feet is more deliberate, he's turning his head in rhythm...just night and day from earlier when he was getting senselessly pounded on. Very pretty counters by Martin. Huerta is just trying to get a touch in, period. More of those obnoxious little "hooks" to the body by Martin (really just dropping his left hand like a hammer out of his guard and letting it flop down on Huerta's belt). Martin shimmies and makes Huerta miss several more punches before crashing a hard hook into his face, right between the eyes.

    67-66 Huerta...lead evaporating

Martin hurt Huerta hard in the last round, had him completely frozen and on the defensive.

Martin is a nice fighter, you don't see to many slick fighters like him who are black. I like his style.

ESPN needs to team back up with Tecate so we can get better fights.

    Round 8

Martin is going crazy now, just belting Huerta with reckless hooks on the inside. Nonstop body attack. Huerta is getting lit up everywhere below the chest and can't even land so much as a jab on Martin right in front of him. Martin stays in close and rests for a moment, and Huerta takes the cue to start bashing the body himself. Martin clocks back in and lands a nice upper-hook. Martin's legs still aren't completely glued to the canvas, as he has continued balance problems. He throws a wild hook and falls down, but pushes himself up before the referee can even rule it a slip (or Huerta can run up and try to nail him after he's risen). Martin is in a rhythm, but there's something a bit off with him tonight even now that he's found his groove. Must be a flu or something.

    76 apiece

looks like both guys were tired that round, gave it to Martin though.

By the way IB, I just saw that Hancock, Swordfish, Police Story commercial you were talking about. Best editing ever.

Really under-rated fighter as well, would love to see more of him

Martin was unloading on Huerta, if he had power this would be over.

Martin, man. He's just windmilling out of a crouch now. Freaking Harry Greb impersonation. Ooh, low blow. Huerta takes some time to get right from that. Once they call time in, Martin goes into beast mode, landing powerful hooks as Huerta tries to line up a jab. Huerta is right in it, though. Martin is dodging punches and throwing crazy wild stuff at Huerta while turning him. Huerta is throwing better, more "correct" punches but not defending as well. Very interesting dichotomy. Huerta is dancing on his toes, jabbing and hooking at a ghost.

    86-85 Martin
