Round 2

Martin throws some straight jabs while circling, and some pendulum flurries up close to try and catch Silveira in a guillotine with the crook of his elbow - everything landing softly if at all. Silveira gets in a good hook as Martin backs away lazily! More economical out-boxing by Martin. Silveira is hacking away at him with jabs and rights to the body, landing only the latter. WHOA! Big hook rocks Martin! Silveira swings away with emphasis! :shock:

Round 3

Martin tries to establish his jab by doubling it and hooking off it as he backs up. Good awareness and defense by Martin now, as Silveira's limited arsenal and slow hands are put on display. He is persistent, however. Martin keeps him just barely at bay with the jab and some wild up-hooks from the hip (all missing). Silveira keeps walking forward and is now getting popped with jabs and whipping rights from long range by the taller man. Silveira has his mouth guard pushed up between his lips, and is flurried into a corner at the bell.

Round 4

Martin is now blocking shots with a twin wall made out of his forearms and sharp-shooting with his jab and probing right. A few slapping hooks to remember him by as he backs out of the pocket. Silveira keeps coming. Hook into the gloves by Martin, and then a flurry of uppercuts before he props himself up against Silveira to rest with his left elbow. Very little clinching, and never long enough to require intervention. Huge left hook to the temple and looping right to the gut combo by Martin. Silveira waits for his moment, and is rewarded as he finds Martin backing straight up and is able to land a left hook.

Round 5

Martin is putting combos together now, staying just in front of Silveira. He is fading backward when Silveira throws uppercuts, and may appear from some angles to be getting hit (explaining the hollering and whistling from the audience). Martin is the one landing a bevy of hooks and working in that straight right hand. Silveira takes shuffling sideways steps around, trying to escape the ever more accurate hands of Martin. Overhand right to the cheek and a left hook to the body by Martin, quick and concise. Silveira is just flicking out a left jab as he circles, perhaps thinking it's better than doing nothing but get hit.

Round 6

Silveira is on the hunt, throwing multiple hooks down low and fishing with right hands. Martin is all defensive for the first minute, taking some body shots. Now Martin starts to get his rhythm and puts some small combos together as he turns Silveira. Most of his shots are hitting back and arm as Silveira crimps himself in the middle and rotates. A few of Martin's wild up-hooks stray low and hit square on the cup but Silveira doesn't complain or even blink. They trade jabs. Silveira lands his fairly solidly. Maretin takes a shoeshine to the body while trying to walk Silveira into the ropes. Wild overhand by Martin misses, and then a wild straight.

Round 7

Martin takes a jab to the stomach and simultaneously throws a long left hook to the side of the head of the flattened-forward Silveira. Martin stands still in a turtle shell and the crowd boos. Silveira tries to press the fight but Martin is interested in exchanging only on his own terms and defending whenever he isn't spinning Silveira around to tag him on the move. Nice slams by Martin, a hard jab to the face and then a left hook to the ribs. Now some seriously heavy combos from Martin. Silveira is pushed to the ropes and looks to actually wince for the first time. Martin jabs him in the face and they tie up. Silveira throws a slow jab and uppercut into Martin's turtle shell. Now a Silveira right hand is backhanded aside. Martin is back on the clock offensively now, jabbing and clapping down with overhand rights as the shorter man ducks back. A few body shots by Silveira miss.

Round 8

Martin is going back into sloppy mode now, throwing fattened overhand rights and wide hooks with his elbow almost entirely unbent. Martin is missing a lot, without much effort on Silveira's part. Now Martin goes to the body, whipping his long arms down and smacking the skin just above the too-high trunks of Silveira. The shorter man is fighting very negative now, jumping backward away from Martin and trying to clinch on the inside. Martin finally lines up a really good sequence of straight shots and has Silveira in trouble! Martin lets several more loose before Silveira grabs and brings him grinding to a halt. Martin pops him a few more times as Silveira looks to get his own face rubs through in between.

Round 9

Martin pushes out a long and forceful jab, not snapped but with all his weight behind it - right into Silveira's face. He keeps driving through with it, not allowing Silveira any clean touches as he flaps his arms ineffectively past that big log in his way. Silveira has a point taken, I think for low blows. Big hard flurry by Silveira, missing absolutely everything. All very short punches, way too short to have a prayer. Martin ignores his corner's plea to "Stick the jab in his face!" and starts to throw sloppy overhand rights allowing Silveira to shift off to Christopher's left and hug him tight. Meteor hammers up top by Martin, before he switches his focus to the bare body of Silveira and rams left hooks into it.
