Hirales gets right in Huerta's face and starts lobbing uppercuts into it. Huerta clamps onto him and Hirales just smashes away with his free glove. Huerta again presses into Hirales with his face swaddled in a tight guard and Hirales again just blasts him with quick two-fisted uppercut fury. Huerta yanks on Hirales' neck and cranks it into a tight and painful looking headlock. Pat breaks 'em up. Huerta is throwing straight combos as hard as he can now but they're falling limply against the shoulders of Hirales and in some cases veering off course altogether. Huerta is WINDED. Hirales shoeshines every few seconds but is taking breathers himself. BIG left hook to the face by Hirales.

Hirales comes out with mean intentions, hitting Huerta with hooks and short uppercuts. Huerta keeps popping the same limp straight combo and draping himself over Hirales. They trade at mid-range with Hirales possessing the much quicker hands at this point and causing Huerta to step in and loop his arms around Hirales' after sucking down clean bombs. Hirales starts landing cleaner and harder and Huerta is in TROUBLE. Hirales is not letting him clinch and is launching huge shots as he steps back! Big left hook from Huerta, delivered with power borne of desperation!!! That was his last hurrah. Hirales keeps at it but can't finish the tough ******* off.

I'm going to be really mad if the home-state fighter gets this.

It was even through 4 (and, through 5 because of Hirales having a point deducted but still winning). 6-8 were all Hirales and for all nine minutes it seemed the bedraggled Huerta could be on the verge of getting knocked out.

Hirales more than earned victory. Taking his 0 would be reprehensible. Fingers crossed...

Maybe Micky Roman before the year's out? There's a wide enough gulf in class that he should be alright, but he'll have to be alert and on his toes all the way...and he'll damn sure learn how to handle pressure (he'll have to).

 

Damn it! They showed like a five second highlight of Bastie "the Beast" Samir (a hard-punching Ghanaian SMW prospect).

It looks like he knocked his man down, got some rounds in for once and won in the 5th round (as opposed to the first or second which has been his custom).

That makes him 9-0 (9)

A little more Bastie and a little less of commercials for next week's SBT would have been nice. :twisted:
