    Round 2

Scott is just gliding back and effortlessly dropping counter jabs above the guard of Bailey, tattooing his forehead. Bailey keeps coming, undeterred - and gets Scott up on the ropes!!! Bailey clubs away at him furiously!! Scott wriggles free of the ropes and gets back to lazy countering. Bailey almost pushes him back to the ropes and Scott finally starts to put some combos together to win back some ground. Bailey marches right back at him and wings high hooks. Scott stoops down and flurries with some flashy uppercuts but gets clipped on the jaw with a right hand by the willful Bailey. Scott is under fire and has to clinch as Bailey keeps smashing away at him. They separate and Scott again has to hold as he's backed into a corner by the power windmills of Bailey.

****, I don't know - did Scott do enough to still win that round? Bailey certainly didn't do much clean effective boxing, but damn did he ever outfight his man. (very similar frustrating pattern to a lot of the rounds in last week's Barros vs. Caballero).

    Round 3

Bailey just winds up and lets 'em rip, hammering away at Scott with wild windmills...but actually landing! Scott seems bewildered. Even Bailey seems a bit taken aback at how easily he's bossing Scott around now. Clubbing shots landing in bunches for Bailey as Scott just ineffectively tries to either step out of the pocket or, failing that - hold (at which he also fails). Bailey is just clobbering him!! Body shot by Bailey! Now a clubbing overhand! All the while, Scott backs up and looks to disengage. Bailey takes a shot on the chin, then one behind the back of the head as Bailey leaps up and lunges with a hook.

    DEFINITE Bailey round, 10-9

    Round 4

Scott is on his bike. Bailey slams away at him with his meaty appendages. Bailey is landing everything in the book now (even his jabs are thrown as power punches, and turning the chin of Scott) while Scott throws virtually nothing. Scott is trying to stick to a strict gameplan of nothing but "slick" defense, but is allowing Bailey to land at a rate of like 50%! Bailey lands those hard jabs and gets Scott wilting against the ropes with big combos!! A hail of shots by Bailey!! Body!!! Now head!! Just a continuous stream of lefts and rights!! He wants the knockout!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    It is not to be.

Bailey should win this fight. AT WORST, a draw.

Scott paid for his cockiness and got badly beaten up in both 3 & 4. Two was closer than tweezers.

With the majority decision win, Bailey now has eleven total - matching his number of losses and evening up his record.

Scott - who entered all leveled up - falls to 3-4-1.

Neither will reach great heights in this sport, and we may never see them on TV again... but it was great to see the sheer effort and desire of Bailey pay off, and the insistence of Martinez that the crowd give some love (just in case the judges were unkind) and Osuna's murmur of approval into the mic were just awesome gestures that affirmed we are all a fraternity in boxing fandom...a fraternity who can at certain times appreciate truly special moments in complete unanimity, and whose members includes those with professions in the industry, be they ring announcers or TV commentators.

Thanks for that, Billy Goat. You took your fifteen minutes, and you made them count. We are all very grateful.

Chad Davis has never registered any form of knockout win as a professional (and has in fact been stopped twice among his eight losses).

    His ring name is "TKO".

    You can't make this **** up. :lol::lol:

Hmm. They're having some kind of problem at the venue. Most of the crowd has dispersed (Williams vs. Davis must be the walkout bout) and Martinez announced that they could not continue until an ambulance outside was moved? :? He then called representatives from GBP to meet at the scoring table.

Williams and Davis were hopping around the ring staying warm and loose among a crowd of media and corner people - several minutes after they'd both walked out.

Now they're switching after coming back from commercial and showing a different match instead (probably on delay, from earlier in the card).

Zhankosh "the Anvil" Turavov vs. David Castillo - 4 rounds @ welterweight.

    Round 1

Castillo comes flying at Turavov with his arms spread wide, slapping at him when he gets close and smothering him with his heavily inked chest bearing down atop him. Castillo is warned for fouls (low blows I think). Tony Weeks is having difficulty keeping it clean, but is trying. Castillo is grabbing, rabbit punching a bit, holding and hitting. Turavov lands some nice body shots, particularly the sinking jab. Castillo repeatedly grabs him and yanks on his arms, as though trying to remove them from their sockets. Castillo is mugging a bit, making faces at Turavov and shimmying away from him with some feeble attempts at shoulder roll movements.

    10-9 Turavov

    Round 2

Turavov throws a high jab, and Castillo looks to curl his fists around to the back of his head while grabbing at him. Turavov is hit BLATANTLY low. Weeks asks Castillo to keep them up, but IMO could sound a bit sterner about it. Castillo is popped with a counter shot and jumps on Turavov to grab and maul him. Weeks immediately splits them up. Another clinch, and ANOTHER FOUL! :patsch Weeks mans up and deducts two points from Castillo for abusing his leniency up to that point. Then Castillo gets right back to his dirty deeds, smacking Turavov in the mouth with his forearms and hooking elbows around his throat as he wrestles him. Weeks forcefully separates them and wags his finger in Castillo's face. Rough clinch, initiated by guess who? Uppercuts and rabbit punches inside by Castillo. Turavov has barely had any opportunities to land cleanly. He takes advantage of one now and lands a perfect (and sickeningly loud) right hand to the face. Castillo fouls him a few more times (drawing on his whole bag of tricks), either not seen or ignored by Weeks.

    10-8 Turavov

    20-17 Turavov

Points, stoppage, or disqualification - these all seem like equally likely methods of loss for Castillo right now. (33% each)
