    Round 2

Ramos is really lighting Figueroa up with the left uppercut - it can't miss. Ramos pushes him into the ropes and has target practice with Figueroa as willing as a clay pigeon, standing utterly still with his ulnas clipped to his face. Ramos unleashes an endless volley of short bursts of quick punches with only split-second breaks in between.

    20-18 Ramos

    Round 3

Figueroa is staying as far away as possible from Ramos, warily eying him from across the ring and swatting the air with left hooks when Ramos creeps toward him. Ramos zig-zags his way in and begins to land more quick punches while Figueroa looks to hold or simply lean into him to dull the assault. Ramos has a little bruising under his left eye but I can't imagine what it's from. They infight with Figueroa's back to the ropes and both land flush punches to the face but Ramos' speed sees him landing more and more stinging shots.

    Round 4

Figueroa pantomimes "Come on!" after eating a lead left. Ramos ignores the display of machismo and accepts the invitation, landing a couple more. Figueroa keeps his hopeless jab floating in Ramos' general direction but is mostly just trying to remain out of harm's way. Figueroa throws some uppercuts from out of a Philly shell and has his shoulders leaned too far back for Ramos to land clean headshots, so Ramos goes to the body instead. A left to the body followed by a right hook works well for Ramos so he repeats the formula.

    Round 5

Ramos continues to connect with just about everything (which can be correctly interpreted to mean both every punch in the southpaw book, and every punch that he throws). Figueroa keeps trying to defend himself and occasionally respond with some very passive arm punches on the inside but appears to be in "last the distance" mode for the most part.

    Round 6

Ramos is like a metronome with the right jab and 1-2. Figueroa is shy offensively until he's leaning against Ramos, at which point he's just clapping whatever he can hit with short little flicks of his wrist. Figueroa finally lands a really nice right hand on the chin of Ramos but immediately is the recipient of a long quick combo. Ramos is letting him get a couple of shots off, completely unperturbed by Figueroa's power, to get him to open up for these extended combos. Ramos grinds him against the ropes and continues to work.

    Round 7

Ramos may finally have his man hurt. Punches are causing visible buckling now and the crowd is getting into it. Ramos keeps his work efficient and backs Figueroa again to the ropes with quick uninterrupted shots, alternating hands and punch types. Figueroa tries to lean in, looking maybe exhausted, and throws desperate underhanded body shots.

    Round 8

Ramos Jr. swarms Figueroa and tries to blast him out. Figueroa stands firm and lands a counter right that snaps Ramos' head back a little. Ramos throws the kitchen sink at him and Figueroa hangs in there. Ramos is getting a little too excited trying to end it and taking too many stupid shots, especially from someone as tired (and inaccurate to begin with) as Figueroa.

Ramos has to settle for a UD. He's fast and throws good combos, but lacks power and for a shortish LW/LWW that could be a problem when he steps up.
