Huh. :blood All this time, his real name was Ricardo Juarez?

Anyway, he looks a little old.

Chente looks fresh as a daisy.

 

Round 1

Juarez reaches out and jabs low at the belt line of Escobedo. Juarez is pressuring early, mostly using jabs and a nonstop march. Escobedo is peeling out to the ropes and keeping distance. Juarez gets him held still for a moment with a sequence of body shots as Escobedo covers up against the ropes. Left hook to the body and a clubbing right hand up top across the neck by Juarez. Escobedo circles left, then right. Juarez targets the body with jabs and lunging rights. HUGE right to the jaw by Juarez, thrown during a gap between Escobedo jabs. More jabs to the body by Juarez back Escobedo up. Nice hook to the belly by Escobedo, but Juarez gets his elbows in the way of any follow-up shots and takes a step back.

10-9 Juarez

 

The crowd booed toward the end of the round, but it wasn't because this isn't off to a good start. The American is doing better than expected. (and most of this Southern Californian crowd ain't American :yep)

Is it me or did he come to the ring straight from a tanning booth? He makes Escobedo look like Christina Ricci. (minus the boobs)

 

Round 2

Juarez has slowed but not stopped his advance while blocking, parrying, and hitting the brakes to let Escobedo's shots slice the air in front of him. Escobedo is throwing up jabs and trying for straight combos at chest level while backing up. No success. Escobedo dips at the knee and throws some pendulous body shots and lands well. Escobedo continues the pattern of circling away and getting his jab blocked and again finds more success throwing his long arms underneath at Juarez's midsection. HARD chopping right to the face by Juarez just before the bell.

20-18 Juarez

 

Yeah. He must have read all the comments on the internet about him being a never-was who lacked killer instinct and was washed up to boot.
