They trade jabs as Juarez hustles in on Escobedo. Right to the body by Juarez. High hook by Juarez. Flush jabs for Escobedo. 1-2-1-2 by Escobedo, with only the first jab missing. Juarez steps under a high floating jab and takes Escobedo's underarm across the top of his head. Nice short hook by Escobedo and Juarez lands his own. Huge left hand rip to the body by Juarez, reaching out as far as he can. Flurry to the face and body by Escobedo while circling close by. Jabs to the face by Escobedo backing up. Juarez jabs Escobedo to the ropes and then slaps him with a hook across the face. Escobedo ducks and lands body shots while circling all around the ring. BIG shot by Juarez as we cut to commercial!!! It looked like Escobedo was on jelly legs and about to fall!!!!!

Round 7

Juarez is boring in with a low center of gravity and his hands up, throwing hard left hooks to the body and trying to get the defenses around Escobedo's head to crumble. Jabs by Juarez back Escobedo up. Escobedo moves back to the ropes and flurries out with loose arms. Escobedo keeps circling and flapping his arms but not making so much of a serious attempt to land as just a smokescreen to escape behind. They trade shots and Juarez clips him with a loud left hook that makes Escobedo back up warily. They lean together as Escobedo flurries with weakened looking arms and Juarez lands a short slapping hook to the face. Lots of activity by Escobedo but very little quality in his shots.

Round 8

Juarez pecks with jabs while driving Escobedo back to the ropes. They trade body shots, a right by Juarez and a left from Escobedo passing like strangers in the night. Both are looking arm weary and throwing noodles. Juarez lands a left hook to the body, but there's nothing hurtful about it. Escobedo lands a soggy pretzel stick of a jab. They lean in and trade body shots. Now they start to find some snap after a moment's rest, each landing louder and crisper body shots with each one hurled. Juarez lands a nice combo, uppercut to the body behind Escobedo's gloves and then a left hook across the ear cavity. Juarez is staying in close and brushing Escobedo with short punches. Escobedo backs out into his ideal range and manages to get some whip into a few shots.
