sure it is lance , sure it is .. "same nonsense you post when you hate against floyd" see how the spin works lance .. I used your own **** against you..

R you in love with floyd ? its seems you can't post with out posting his name .. get the man's dick out ya mouth palease..

In any case I made my point Joe doesn't need Pavlic to cap off his career , and pavlic still has a long way to go.

Not exactly, the safer the better and Roy is safer at this point and will make his bull**** record look better. Nothing else.

Thanks ACB and believe me i understand where your coming from....

Personally, im dissapointed with the Jones/JC fight as i would have loved to see him try at Pavlik...

but what can i say? he wants that one last payday before he calls it a career i guess, and although it leaves much to be desired, isnt that usually the case when fighters who are still on top retire?

It is an obvious duck... but one that i dont think merits as much hostility as its getting, then again... maybe it does. If JC would just man up and SAY he wants jones for the payday.... and then get out, i dont think he would be taking it as hard as he is now with him saying 'pavlik doesnt want it' lol... crazyness.

Pit i think your very wrong on this.

    Nothing to gain?

Lets remember that pavlik just knocked out the guy that dethroned hopkins and beat him twice, 3 years before JC did, and didnt get knocked down in the process... (also beating taylor twice and capturing the undisputed middleweight crown puts him on a higher level then lacy ever was)

Beating the linear, undefeated, p4p'er prime middleweight champion who is also a name, and a rising coverboy for boxing (ring mag),

is never a 'nothing to gain everything to lose' scenario

the JONES fight is the REAL fight where that term should be applied.

If JC loses to Pavlik... it will be looked at as a passing of the guard, in fact i am willing to be JC would be the underdog... if he wins, it becomes the best win of his career alongside kessler. When you stand to gain one of the best wins of your career, how can you say that theres nothing to gain??? if in 4 months JC fought and defeated Pavlik... it would be one of the best wins of his career... which is all i need to say on the point of him having nothing to gain, in fact i believe Pavlik is 'officially' only 4 or 5 spots below JC p4p! now compare that to jones who isnt on ANYONES p4p lists... not even top 15!

and if he loses... he lost to the young undefeated middle champion whos sky is the limit, a p4p'er, and it was obvious (at least to me) that JC is/was slipping and on his way out anyways... and went out against the best

    against JONES

If he loses against jones now it will damage his legacy much much worse then if he were to lose to pavlik at this point... NOBODY takes jones seriously anymore in terms of the power players at whatever weight, and jones has not had a noteworthy win in FIVE YEARS

If he wins... well ill let JC's own words sum that up
'I have no interest in being the 3rd man to KO jones'

a JC win is *yawn* ok whats next... its expected to most.

im sorry pit but i completely disagree with you

Although i dont want to see the fight at all.... i have no real problem with JC taking this fight... took him a long time to earn this money and so i say go for it, hes on his way out anyways...
but dont try twisting and turning it to make it appear as a legit move...

anyone and everyone should be able to see that Pavlik is a better fight legacy wise... glory wise.... and battle worthy wise.

Roy is simply a legend and $$$

    and thats all there is

JC has fought Lacy, Kessler, and Hopkins.... if he wants to fight Roy Jones i say let him... just dont get it twisted.

I don't understand why people are heavily criticizing Calzaghe for fighting Roy Jones instead of Kelly the Ghost. Hasn't everyone realized that Calzaghe has already answered the call of the harshest critics by fighting undefeated champions in Jeff Lacy and Mikkel Kessler. He also answered the critics by beating old Poppkins in Las Vegas. Calzaghe's attitude is basically, "when does this end...when will everyone be satisfied?" The answer is never!! Calzaghe has finally realized this fact of life...that you can't please the harshest critics of boxing.

If you're going to criticize anyone in boxing, be harsh on the Ghost for accepting a fight versus Sergio Mora, a fighter that couldn't punch his way out of a paper sack. Should we now conclude that Kelly Pavlik is ducking King Arthur for taking this easy no risk fight against a former contender contestant?

I agree for the most part acb.

Calzaghe should be fighting Pavlik and Mayweather should have fought Cotto.

Although fighting Jones is much more dangerous than retiring.

    No Calzaghe-Pavlik
    No Mayweather-Cotto
Sad thing is we cant blame payperview we can't blame sanctioning bodies, and we can't blame it on lack of interest
We can only blame the cowards that are Joe Calzaghe and Floyd Mayweather

While it's possible to pretend otherwise, I'm sure there will be argument by people unwilling to face the sad reality

You cant blame Calzaghe for wanting a gimme retirement fight, he spent a good 5 years being avoided, even when he threw money at them they still muttered something about "Weight class" or some other ****.

I agree........Jones will beat and expose Calzaghe however.....sure Joe may be abit faster, if he is it's not by much:deal Many people knock Roy or think he's shot because he was beaten and KOd by Johnson and Tarver but thats fine, careers in any sport are measured by how well the said team or fighter recover.......

Joe will recieve the proper boxing instruction his daddy was never able to teach him when he fights Roy....

It's widely understood that despite Joes success he does everything(conventionally) wrong.........well in case everyone has forgotten Roy is the master and Joe will be exposed......about as bad as MAB-Hamed:deal

How does Roy bring in dollar signs? Sure 8 years ago he did but this is now

So how does Roy bring so much money to the table when Pavlik has in many cases reinvigorated the sport in america??

I'm just befuddled at how even the most casual boxing fan does not see this

Roy USED to be dollar signs.....he's not anymore

His die hard fans from 10 years ago are vastly outnumbered by Pavlik fans worldwide, so Jones bringing more money is utter bull****........

    I hope Roy beats Calzaghe.

Also I think that Roy still has faster hands. He does not have the footspeed, stamina or reflex's to beat Calzaghe.

    Hope that I am wrong.

Pavlik didnt fill out his last fight, the demand wasnt that great. Finacially Pavlik isnt that hot.
