For all the jaded fans lurking among the classic forum members like myself that would rather watch a deeply obscure bout from a far more competitively matched era of boxing long now forgotten to the casual boxing fan than much of anything being put out in this modern age...

Mike Rossman is just 19 years old in this bout, and had not yet filled out to become the ranked light heavyweight that he would become just a few short years later. Still, he doesn't look particularly raw to me. Him & Sean O'Grady are two fresh faced birds of a feather in that regard...

    Super tight footage. Thank you.

Amazing how good even the B-level guys were back in the 70's.

Competition wise it seemed like you were always swimming among sharks... Things were honest to god simply deeper, no frills or exaggeration necessary.

I'm a fan of Martin, Rossman and O'Grady...I dig all three of these guys.

You've got to love how he just marched into James Scott's "house", decked him twice, and basically dominated him for the upset win.

Interesting that Rossman couldn't stop Matt Donovan in two fights. Seems like every other even remotely decent opponent stopped him, and the very good fighters stopped him early. Looked like Donovan was on cruise control, too.

A shame that nobody ever helped Rossman fix that weak, pawing jab of his (the one that Qawi countered to death).

Yes ! As strong as Martin was I gotta say watching that fight at that time I was so surprised! But that's exactly what the Bull did.

Enjoy the footage RC? You're one of the people I had in mind when trying to decide what kind of decent thread I could make out of the footage I had available to share...

You're on another roll Russell, what with the Lausse (especially) thread, and now this one! Keep up the good work. Those eras, the 50's and the 70's...are pretty special to me...add to that the 60's as well.:sun_smiley:

Maybe I'm doing it to try and indulge you because I enjoy your internet company and chatter... ;)

You going to be around the boards for a bit today? I'm cooking up some good stuff right now...

That's awesome! We just got hit with 4 plus inches of now out of nowhere this morning, in April, when it was supposed to just be rain. No errands for me.

And I'm glad you've got a little free time, I love being able to unwind and just go my own thing at my own pace. Hope you have a good and productive few days off RC. I know what forum I'm spending my next few days on alongside my favorite bad habit or two... *Rubs hands together like New Englander's do* :borra2::risas3::risas3::risas3:
