If you didn't mean they gassed why did you say so? You don't need to do 15 miles road work to fight 15 rds at a good pace Joe Louis never did ,Ali never did. Jeffries and Fitzsimmons were fighting in an era that featured long distance fights.
FYI Marciano only went 15 rds once in his entire career and both he and Charles were ****ed at the end of their fight .
You haven't produced a primary source to back up your claims.

The documentaries are primary sources. Marciano's grueling pace required more stamina.

The documentarians personally observed Marciano running 15 miles per day? If not, do they interview people who have?
Would you mind giving us the times in the documentaries where we can find the relevant information?

Marciano fought at a measured pace you make him sound positively frenetic! Don't forget he was fighting men older than himself, 3 of them a couple of years off of 40 if he had great stamina what about them?

What??? Throwing 100+ punches in the 15th round against Ezzard Charles and throwing 42 punches in 34 seconds against Archie Moore is apparently not grueling

Correction, Marciano fought a TON of young people. He happened to fight 3 old people, Louis (37), Walcott (38), and Moore (38 but debatable). Moore was the light heavyweight champ (and would reign for much longer after) and had beaten the #1 contender Nino Valdes and Bob Baker. Walcott was the heavyweight champ and just knocked out 28 year old Ezzard Charles, then confirmed the win with a decision. The only one not in shape was Louis, who was still on a winning streak with names like Cesar Brion and Lee Savold on his comeback hitlist. Also you know, he wasn't in his prime but he's arguably the greatest heavyweight to ever exist???

I literally proved in the calculations that Marciano fought opponents of fair age. His opponent average was less than 30. The old guys just happened to kick ass in Marciano's era.

His challenger average is substantially higher! Walcott hadn't "just kod," Charles he did it 2 years earlier.

Alright ignore all of my other points about Marciano's grueling pace.

His average title challenger age was 32, not bad at all, though this shouldn't mean **** considering it was 6 fights.

Walcott was still in great shape. Walcott peaked later in life, unlike fighters like Louis who aged like milk, Walcott was a fine wine. And that KO was recent to me, but I guess that's more a matter of perspective

Walcott put up a great fight certainly one of his greatest ,but stylistically I think Marciano was something of a foil for him.Walcott hadnt looked that good in his series with Charles earlier.I tend to think his zenith was the first fight against Louis. But,as you say its a matter of perspective. You have Rocky as possibly the number 1 alltime heavyweight,I no longer have him in my top ten.The arrival of Lewis,Holyfield, and Tyson relegated him to top 15.imo.

I can absolutely get behind that statement, though I don't agree with it. Hell, even I don't think Walcott's style was good for the Marciano matchup

Personally I think Tyson and Lewis are overrated (and Holyfield underrated), but if someone has them over Marciano I don't mind.

I'm really referencing the fact that I can't understand your posts, but that probably is more a reflection on my own lack of comprehension.

Nice research, especially on their opposition's averages. However, Jim Corbett did go 61 rounds with Peter Jackson, and Jack Johnson technically went beyond 25 rounds in the Willard fight (just not more than 25 completed rounds). Also, the round count was less meaningful under the bare-knuckle rules of Sullivan's time. Though, granted, the 2 hours and 16 minutes of the Kilrain fight would have been an excellent workout.
