The people I am referring to are defending Maidana as an opponent...ok fair enough, neither choice is good and I disagree with the option. But the fact that gets lost in all of this is that these same fans are ripping Khan...seem to forget that your guy, Floyd Mayweather, sent Amir a contract, and had Broner won Khan would be the guy. Of course these same idiots would still pay for the fight and justify it with stupid excuses. 1. Khan has a fan base 2. Who else is he supposed to fight? 3. Thurman and Lara have no fan base 4. Garcia Thurman and Porter aren't ready 5. He only has a couple fights left and I always buy his fights no matter who he faces. Like I said, you can't blame Floyd for taking advantage of total idiots
But Broner did lose and made Maidana a much better opponent. So Floyd picked the better opponent. Are you complaining or what? What is this threads' purpose? Venting complaints or frustration? I will contribute to that. I am upset that Ivan Calderon and Pongsaklek Wonjongkam are not properly recognized as two of the best fighters of their era (not necessarily top 5 of the era or ATG's)...
Well the TS is an idiot if he thinks a guy who has NEVER campaigned at 147 can just leapfrog over all the 147 lb contenders and titlists and "assume" he deserves a shot with the P4P king. The fight might be a little more palatable if he actually beat Garcia and was able to dominate a 5 year past his prime Julio DIaz. He didn't fare well in either fight though, and he's 2-2 in his last 4. I don't care if Khan brings 5 million PPV subscribers to the table, based on merit and his ACTUAL fighting resume, he needs to try and rematch Garcia and win back his 140 lb titles or he needs to go the conventional route and actually fight a contender or 2 at WW before he gets a shot at any of the titlists. What makes him think he's so special that he deserves a fight with Floyd at this current juncture? Nobody in the United States has any idea who the hell he is. Maidana is probably more well known than Khan in the States after his high profile victory over Broner.
he has a belt, at a weight that the best fighter in the world is currently fighting at. a maidana fights makes the most sense at the moment. and if you can't accept that, then :deal
nothing but berto for pedjr now. 2 choices between 2 bertos. is that really a choice? ortiz beat an overhype bum and he was young, hungry, lion. nvm that the guy either quit or get stopped in every other fight. now maindana beat another overhype bum and he is now the 2nd coming of young, hungry, lion. pedjr feeding on bertos. what\s new.
Who are these Khan fans? Put him in with any British boxer and you'd get identical PPV numbers here. It's an irrelevance anyway. Khan hasn't earned the fight, if he's so good why is he so afraid to do so?
YOU are the exact type of idiot I'm talking about. You just ripped Khan... yet the point I made since you are clueless.. is that FLOYD OFFERED THAT GUY A CONTRACT. But instead of ripping Floyd you are calling me an idiot fot thinking Khan measures up better. I didn't offer Khan a contract .. Floyd did.
Khan was always a worse selection than Maidana, who is the lesser of two evils though not ideal. :? What exactly is the problem?
"Offered him a contract." That happened... "Signed the contract for the fight." That didn't happen... So, rather than criticizing him you are actually praising him. Interesting. Rare for there to be a Mayweather-praising thread when he's in the news.
You are usually a sensible guy, i'm surprised you missed the point. His fans are calling Khan a terrible opponent. Floyd offered THAT GUY a contract. So if Maidana hadn't won... Floyd would have been fighting that same terrible guy. As a matter of fact, if he does end up choosing Khan, these same guys will do what they accuse haters of...making excuses. They'll say " people said he wouldn't fight Khan because of speed." And worse...these f*cking idiots would still PAY for it. So my point once again, is that theyre idiots.
Khan wants to skip Pre-Calculus and go straight into Calculus which isn't very wise for someone who barely passed Algebra.
