The attacks against my favourite fighters I can take. The attacks against the majestic isle of Great Britain I can take. Hell, I can even take the personal attacks. But one thing I cannot and will not take are attacks against the greatest forum in the history of the worldwide web.
GGG definitely looks like a different boxer movement has slowed but still got those combination's when he does want to let go. Know one can say GGG isn't a top shelf fighter but time has clearly caught him up a bit. Personally don't have that much interest in a canelo mk3 that's only going to end one way and that is not a good day for GGG physical just don't think he's there
Count me among them. Great and entertaining fight. Watching it for the second time now. Props to both guys, but GGG took alot of shots.I didn't see any 4d chess out there just a badass who is a little slower and gets tired a little easier than he used to. In my book GGG is legit 1 and 1 with Canelo. Yes. Canelo used his greater marketability to his advantage in scheduling these fights to get some help from father time. In a feelgood movie GGG woulld train his ass off and humble Alvarez and ride off into the sunset with the girl. This ain't a movie. If GGG faces Canelo again he's very likely to get stopped. Maybe brutally. If he just wants the payday, I don't blame him, but he should fight a Bernard Hopkins spoiler type fight and hope that the judges break his way. I keep thinking Canelo is due for an unfavorable ruling.
Golovkin's stamina and legs aren't good enough anymore to beat Canelo imo. He still has ample chin and power left though. Hopefully he can pull an old Foreman and slump him with one perfect shot to the chin.
Marquez only ended the rivalry with Pac . How many rematches did Pac give Marquez. Marquez finally got lucky & Ko'd PAC Who Immediately asked for a rematch Marguez said NO !! He knew he got lucky
Yeah he certainly did get hit I agree. I was curious to see if Golovkin's punch resistance dropped at all and I saw no indication of that so along with his power, he does have that. I think that those 2 qualities will have him see the final bell against Saul. Golovkin has been taking more breaks in action for a few years now and while he has slowed in that area, I don't see a KO. It could absolutely happen because who knows what will go through Golovkin's mind when he already feels like he gave Canelo 2 boxing lessons. That HAS to affect his approach and mindset you would think. How would most of us react in that scenario? Maybe he just goes out there and does a Roy Jones Jr./ Tarver III and just goes in to finish and collect a payday. Roy was never trying to win that fight.
I'm not going to pretend that I rated Murata highest on my list but he's solid and was going at GGG to try to take him out. GGG had good back-foot game, mixed in punches, and picked off with the gloves. Had some vicious, beautiful hooks too. Then turned it up on the much younger man and took him out. Impressive performance taking into account the postponement and that Murata is solid. Some things I didn't like: He smothered his punches and combos when being too close, wasn't putting Murata at the end of the snapping right hand for the most part. Golovkin still has the raw natural power so for Canelo he should go for activity, combos, body shots, and to have enough stamina to turn it up late. Canelo is an amazing talent but can plod at times, and GGG has the chin to go 12 and maybe surprise him late. I'm looking forward to the fight, not given Canelo beats Bivol either.
That is your opinion. I'm talking about Golovkin's opinion which matters more. I'm just saying put yourself in his shoes. Now as non elite fighters, guys like us can say "Oh I'd go all out for the knockout" or I'd do this or that, but since we've never been at that level we have no idea what is going on inside his head and how either him or Canelo will approach fight #3 if it happens.
