I'm cool wether I hate Hatton or not, I don't by the way. I do however hate how Hatton is clearly ducking Witter and I also hate how he is bullshitting his "fans" by charging £15 for a comeback/tune up fight. Yes Ricky deserves an easier fight after losing to Floyd but WE deserve to see the fight without paying PPV for it. Thousands paid huge amounts to see Ricky in Vegas, over a million paid for that PPV in this country and now Ricky pays us back by charging £15 for the privilage to see him ko Lazcano. **** that. I'll give my £15 to a more deserving cause.
Everyone has the choice not to pay the £15, its not as if its a great deal of money these days. Hatton is a professional fighter who is potentially putting his life and health on the line everytime he fights, of course he wants a maximize his earnings. You think many boxers would do differently if they had the chance? Why are people so pissed off at Hatton for making this PPV and not Sky? What other fighters get the blame when their fights are poor PPV value? Presumably Sky bought the rights to the fight from the Hattons, they could have made it free? They obviously agreed to pay a price for the fight that was based on PPV sales. From a quality point of view its not even close to what I consider being a PPV card but I'd guess Sky will get enough buys to be able to justify it.
Agreed, £15 isn't alot of money but it's the principal. I like money and I have it only as I don't buy things that I don't think are worth it, this fight in my opinion isn't worth it and I take offense that Hatton is treating us, the people who have made him rich, like idiots when he keeps acting like he's doing us a favour.
He's doing the people who want to see him fight a favour, not you. Because for 3 years they've had to go half way across the world to watch him. He's in England and he's doing a stadium, so everybody who cares can go. Sky Box Office are charging £15 to watch it, not Hatton.
As I said, surely Sky should take at least some (most?) of the blame for this? They paid a price based on it being PPV, they could have bid based on showing it free. After all they and Setanta (who arn't showing PPVs at the moment) are the only serious shows in town for boxing so the Hattons wouldn't have had a great deal of choice but to either take the money Sky offered, go with Setanta or move the fight to 2am to take some extra American money. Either way the fight would have been free in the UK....Blame Sky.
The people who had control over what they paid for the fight and what they charge people to watch it are Sky.
The only people crying are the ones who don't want to pay £15 for the fight. It's only logical to say that Sky are charging the fee, not Hatton. :nut
No not really sleaze, I can get it for free but still can't be bothered to watch. If it was against the likes of Judah, Witter etc I might have made an effort, but I can't be arsed to watch Hatton beating (whats his name??) BTW - ZDF are showing FTA boxing live as we chat (19.2E) Firat Arslan - Darnell Wilson Alexander Dimitrenko - Derric Rossy
I was talking about the people crying about it being £15. You would'nt apply to that, but I'm staying up tonight to watch Oscar beat up Steve Forbes. In comparison, Hatton-Lazcano is turning me on.
ha ha i thought of witter when he said it. :yep maybe he didn't mean witter. :hi: lazcano is more known in boxing than bradley. plus he's top 10 rated independently. where's bradley??? who's bradley??? even the yanks on the general board don't know him. atsch
