I was just thinking about how when the Mayweather/De La hoya figth was made. People talked about how Floyd's record would look if he faced the same great fighters that Oscar had. OF course Oscar's resume looked better so I can't say what Floyd would have done. But with the HAtton fight approaching. I asked myself what Floyds record would look like if he faced Hatton's opposition. The answer I came up with was. Floyds record would look so impressive that he would not only not be called feather fisted. But he would likely be known as Floyd "Lights out" Mayweather. But then he probably wouldn't be known for being undefeated in 5 weight classes, and Forbes would probably not estimate his net worth in the $150 million dollar range. He would probably not be called a runner by the people on this board that tend to hate him so much, but they would still hate him, and call him something anyway. What do you think? I will not respond to the ignorant responses.
All hypothetical but its difficult to say if the roles were reversed ..Either what diffrence does it make regarding resumes prior when now these 2 will meet .
It makes no difference at all. But it was brought up before the De La Hoya fight. BEcasue of Oscar's resume.
Mayweather is 1-1 with a prime Castillo in my book, Hatton demolished a less than prime version. Zoo?
Floyd would of roasted the Tsyu that fought Hatton. Floyd was supposed to fight that Tsyu anyway and Tsyu chose Hatton.
Zoo was past his best. Not to mention PBF would have always given Zoo fits. You have to remember PBF is a defensive master and the best in the sport at taking away your best punch ask Oscar. Before the PBF-Oscar fight everyone was saying just wait until that left hook lands and it will be all over for PBF but guess what it didn't come and a fight against Zoo would be no different. People would be waiting and meanwhile PBF would be winning rounds. Not to metion PBF has a good chin as well and can take a good shot. Thinking that Zoo would KO PBF is foolish especially since PBF has never been knocked down or really hurt in a fight. Zoo wouldn't KO PBF and he wouldn't outbox him either so what does that leave you with? PBF by UD.
True but Judah made a better show against maywaether than he did against KT. I hope hatton does win and i will be rooting for him but i have to agree floyd is a brillinat boxer. The reason that i don't like him is because his arrogant.
Unless you live in a fairy tail world. Floyd is 2-0 against Castillo. If he lost the first fight please tell me which 7 rounds Castillo won. Dont give me that point deduction bull**** b/c Castillo had a point deducted for hitting on the break as well. Ok, I will wait to crush you. And if thats the cast Hatton LOST to Collazo. Since judges dont matter.
no offence intended man but "your book" does not count, mayweather is 2-0 against a prime castillo and hatton destroyed a SHOT CASTILLO
I think its unfair only becuase how many fighters have the resume that Oscar has ?I think the problem with boxing fans is that they are too fickeld ..How many people brought into the DLH /MW fight ?? Over 2 mil now that the fight didn't live up to the hype Floyd continues to come under more scrutiny ..I don't think there is a diffrence with the scrutiny the Floyd now receives and what Hatton had received prior to his high profile fights ! No matter how you slice no one boxing fan will ever be completly satisfied w/any boxer ..I think we should continue to embrace fights like this .. I mean for all the lables they get why is it that there is less respect for getting the fight made ???Isn't that what we wanted to begin with ???
In my book Castillo is 0-2 with Floyd, and my book agrees with the book that counts. I didn't say anything about Tszyu being less than prime. I don't think he beats Floyd in his prime though. I haven't really seen enough of Tszyu in the ring to say it for sure. I'll admit that I am borrowing a move from some of the more famous Boxrec geniuses on this board and looking at records and so on and so forth. I understand that doesn't mean anything, But I don't see the type of fighters on the record that would make me say "Yeah he could do that with an undefeated multi division title holder"
