were desperate for a hero. How come everytime a undefeated black fighter fights a undefeated white fighter everybody turns into a ******* in here. Its already bad enough every Hatton Mayweather topic turns ugly over cultural or racial differences but last night it things got out of hand. Before the fight it seemed like a lot of people were united if you wanted Pavlik to win. I wanted him to win to avenge Hopkins. As soon as Taylor got knocked out everybody starts putting up post saying he beats Hopkins, and Wright and how BHop is a fraud. How come we cant enjoy Pavlik's win rather than belittle everybody else. Yeah Pavlik knocked Taylor out when others couldnt do it but at the same time Taylor hadnt knocked anybody down in almost 3 years until last night. ****, Hopkins is almost old enough to be Pavlik's black daddy and theres no reason why he would go back down to 160 to fight "8 mile" Pavlik. Even now, theres posts speculating Pavlik vs Hagler. Can Pavlik get at least ONE defense of the belt before we wonder if he can beat ATG's?

Black, white, blue, green, they fought a good fight and why should it matter his color?

Could be, Taylor was the JOHN RUIZ of the middleweight division in terms of credibility and who , with the help of HBO and DiBella, kept the belt in gift decisions. Pavlik was too close to getting stopped by a guy who couldnt even drop Ouma or Spinks and now people are wondering if he could beat a prime Hagler. Slow down, Hoosiers. I like Pavlik and think hes the fighter of the year so far but dont get amnesia. Lets wait and see.

Well, I agree with the thread. I think KT is one of the most over-rated fighters ever.

But.. It was painful to watch Taylor get victories over guys who should have gotten the nod, in a sport where you have to BEAT champions to gain their belts, not get some bull**** not when the fight could have gone either way on a scorecard coupled with the bias from commentators..

Taylor always carried his left low. He has good power, but some lazy techniques, coupled with cheezy techniques which include versions of the jab and grab. The guy, had he grown into his potential could have been extremely entertaining, but its like he just stopped progressing in quality as soon as he gained the belt.

True, Koa, he stopped progressing but he seemed to be better than he was in the Ouma and Spinks fight. He seemed to be trying to stay off the ropes this time and he scored his first knockdown in almost 3 years. Before folks bring out the knee pad imagine a hurt Pavlik against a Prime Hopkins and Hagler. Luckily for Pavlik, Winky at 160 is not a bad choice at this stage in Wrights career. I dont think Wright can hurt Pavlik without risking getting hurt worse.

He's elite at 160, but he has his flaws and a lot of improvement must be made.

Have you paid attention to what happens after a huge win on boxing forums? White, Black, Brown, American, Mexican, British, Mexican, Peurto Rican doesn't matter. If a young unbeaten contender KO's the undefeated lineal champ (whom has been ranked top 10 P4P for years) there will be stupid threads.

Here's a thought, just ignore them. It's been less than 24 hours remember? Things will settle down. If ESB determined greatness there would have been hundreds of ATG's produced in the last few years. How many guys were going to wipe out the division and rule for years, only to never even win a big fight.

Plus you seem too think and post way too much about Hoosiers, Eminem, and simple farm boys. Take it easy, Champ. Why don't you sit this next one out, stop talking for a while.
