    .. Kovalev vs. Ward?

    Opposers of this claim said that Floyd deserved to win because he won the second half of the fight. Floyd was the champ though. Ward wasn't the champ and he did not win the whole second half.

    The thing is now: Was Kovalev's performance against Ward similar to Maidana's against Floyd? In my opinion no. For me, Maidana vs. Floyd could be a draw, it could also be in favour of both fighters.

    What happened yesterday was a similar environment, yet Kovalev did much more than Maidana did and he did more than Floyd did, while Ward did less than both. He dominated, he threw more, landed more, knocked Ward down, hurt him twice and won at least 9-10 rounds.

    Mayweather outboxed Maidana, big difference, Ward got out classed by Kova and still ended up winning.

    No comparison. Floyd wasn't hesitant in the least with Maidana. Ward for the first 4 rounds looked completely puzzled on how to fight Kovalev until he realized that Kovalev doesn't defend his body.

    Maidana vs Mayweather was a close but clear fight.
    Ward vs Kovalev was a close fight.
